60 /100 Plas Y Brenin (Bar) PLAS Y BRENIN Plas Y Brenin is pretty much every building in the locale where this bar exists, if you’re here specifically for the beer and not one of the many outdoor activities that take place in this beautiful part of the Snowdonia National Park then find the reception building (which is the last one on the road if heading from Capel Curig village) and it’s behind this, on the other side of the canteen which you’ll walk through to get to it. There’s a community centre feel to the place, but it’s comfortable enough, and most people in here will be here because they’ve been to the National Mountain Centre for one reason or another, rather than being a ’local’. There’s three ale pumps, one of which carrying their own beer (the barman couldn’t tell me who brewed it), and a couple of others from local microbreweries in the region. There’s bottled ales from these micros in the fridges behind the bar too. Most of the tables face the window which looks out onto the river and lake in this wonderful and picturesque mountain valley. |
