“This resort island is very popular with tourists on sailboats and daytrippers during the week and Saturday, and with locals on Sunday afternoons. There is a large central bar that can get crowded, and a coffee bar further away - both have all six Cooper Island beers on tap served in organic/recyclable plastic cups. There is a rum bar with 280 rums, and all six beers - the beers are available in flights of six for $14, in actual glasses. The restaurant serves amazing but pricey food. I stayed in a beautiful private bungalow on the beach, so I got to close down the rum bar every night. Brewer Andy was away but manager Sam gave me a very informative tour of the brewhouse. Looks to be a seven barrel system, semi automated, with shiny new fermenters. Their water is from rain and desalination, so it's pretty high tech, including a water recapture system that's built in, and all the electricity is solar. Most ingredients are from the UK, some of the hops are from the US. Sadly all the beers are very light, safe, unadventurous, intended for the party people off the boats who just want light lagers. I think they could be convinced to drink a nice fruited Berliner, or at least something that's not so light. The views of Tortola and the other islands is amazing, and all of this is right on the beach. This is a top notch destination and I hope the beers get a bit more adventurous.“
