60 /100 Cafe Mans (Bar) BINNENBURG 10 Vistited on a warm Wednesday afternoon and sat on the terras. Had one beer, service was slow but nice. Beer was OK. |
50 /100 Slijterij & Wijnhandel Smidt-Witte - Witte Kruislaan (Beer Store) WAALDERSTRAAT 27 bij gebrek aan beter. |

76 /100 Twaalf Balcken (Bar) WEVERSTRAAT 20 Excellent place to beer and have a nice meal.
They organize every month a beertatsing too, with an excepional offering of all kind of beers out of the Netherlands and the rest of Europe, even the States is frequently present.
in 2016/2017 no. 12 in beerpubtop100 of Misset Horecamagazine. |
56 /100 Slijterij & Wijnhandel De Wit (Beer Store) WEVERSTRAAT 18 Small liquor store with a small beer selection, mostly Texelse and Belgian standards, but also a few surprises from lesser known Dutch breweries which I have not seen that often. Prices are a bit higher than at the other slijterij around the corner, and the selection is maybe also a bit less interesting. Still a decent shop. |
70 /100 Slijterij & Wijnhandel Smidt-Witte - Witte Kruislaan (Beer Store) WAALDERSTRAAT 27 Small bottle shop hidden in some kind of garage or basement. Two shelves of beer available including all beers from Texelse (but not from other breweries from the island), some other Dutch micros, Belgians and a few Americans. Nothing crazy or rare, but very decent with some nice stuff in between. Cheap prices, very friendly and talkative staff, nice atmosphere. The most interesting bottle shop of the island (without checking the supermarkets). They have another store in Den Burg as well, but that is not worth mentioning as it only sells beer from Texelse. |
82 /100 Twaalf Balcken (Bar) WEVERSTRAAT 20 Was told this was the busiest place on Texel but it was very quiet on a Monday night (though still busier than other places in town). Selection was pretty solid with all the Belgian classics represented but also had a couple unique finds. Their house beer Kaggel was excellent and they also had a Vedette Extra Ordinary IPA that I had never seen before. Dinner was also excellent but service was a bit slow although very friendly. If you aren’t into Texels, this is the best place on the island for beer. |
68 /100 Twaalf Balcken (Bar) WEVERSTRAAT 20 Very good ABT cafe on Texel. Selection is very good, with some Emelisse, De Molen, Brewdog and more. Staff doesn’t know a whole lot, mistakes on the beermenu and not attentive at all. Food was great. |
76 /100 Twaalf Balcken (Bar) WEVERSTRAAT 20 Nice place in the small town of Den Burg. Lots of locals inside. Quite nice selection of beers. Service was moderate, as they basicly have no knowledge of the (new) beers they have. Mostly it was the Texelse brew from tap, which was poured for the locals. But they had a couple of Emelisse and de Molen specials, and some American brews. Plus one of their three own brews available. |
82 /100 Twaalf Balcken (Bar) WEVERSTRAAT 20 Great pub and restaurant on Texel, an island dominated by Texelse Brouwerij. This pub has some Texelse beer, of course, but they have much more to offer than that. It has a wide, truly interesting selection with some of the best Dutch breweries (De Molen, yeah) and good internationals, even American. The atmosphere is nice and especially in wintertime quite local. One of the so many reasons to visit Texel. |
70 /100 De Hollebol Grand Cafe (Bar) 32 - 36 PARKSTRAAT We popped in here on Wednesday 28th September 2011, the weather was truly magnificent, we sat outside on the street. The range was far better than I expected with a decent selection of mostly Dutch & Belgian beers and whilst there was nothing out of the ordinary their were enough decent beers there to keep you happy. Its a long bar that seemed to connect to a gallery upstairs and also was linked to a bookshop next door which you could access via the stairs at the rear of the cafe. I rather liked this place, service was good, prices were fine and it was well situated within the town. |
