New Inn (Bar)

“Just off the M1 south side of the River Calder on a parallel road to the main one that heads into Wakefield from the junction, this is an urban pub with a nice decor, perhaps more befitting than its outside appearance, but with outdoor space, seemingly family friendly and with a decent amount of parking there's certainly a commercially viable pub here. Unfortunately that hasn't quite translated into its beer selection, which pretty much sticks to safe macro options, its two cask ales were Tetley and Tim Taylor regulars.“

“This appears to be the Village locals pub for Durkar, close to the Red Kite in distance, a million miles away in ambiance. The beer range is stolid Yorkshire but that’s not why you are here, the crack is the defining feature.“

“Part of the Vintage Inns chain but handily just off the M1 on Jctn 39 with large car park. Very much a food orientated pub, virtually every table pre laid for diners, popular with space at a premium. The pub itself looks heavily extended through 3 separate buildings. The beer choice is dull unfortunately, but there might be a couple of winners in the bottle fridge for you, there was for me. Not overly recommended, but as I say, it is handy.“
