A town corner pub with its own brewery in the back. Very friendly staff, cosy place with small tables. Think they do traditional pub food, but we didn´t eat. |
58 /100 Swan (Faringdon) (Bar) 1 PARK ROAD Town pub looks like it has been recently revamped. Comfortable enough, lots of seating, a big room. Took a while to get served but this was down to the barman being outside having a ciggy. Friendly and helpfull. Worth a look. |
68 /100 Swan (Faringdon) (Bar) 1 PARK ROAD Visited here with Loz, Jan & Charlotte and Craig, Stella and kids 22.10.11 Beer range was from Old Forge Brewpub, Coleshill, Oxon and Halfpenny, Brewpub, Lechlade, Glos both small brewpubs who are heavily connected to this one. One of the Faringdon beers i.e. brewed at this site came on tap just before we left so we had a try, though I had, had it before. The pub looked like it had been spruced up a little and the beers whilst not exciting were in good nick and decent. The prices were also very reasonable for the area. The landlord/brewer showed us the brewery, I understand that he brews at both of the aforementioned breweries, he said that the previous people at this pub had been very inconsistent with their brew quality and he had come here to sort matters out. The beer was certainly fine enough now. |
70 /100 Swan (Faringdon) (Bar) 1 PARK ROAD The brewing side of things was temporarily dormant when I visited in July 2011, but it didn’t matter as there was a decent choice of guest beers on, served in good condition.Service was friendly and bar airy and tidy. Will visit again. |
