60 /100 S’Beer (Beer Store) CHEMIN DU BOIS CANDIDE Small shop with a decent beer selection, more focus on Belgian beer and very limited French micros, why? Nothing exciting, in today’s panorama more is expected, this shop caters for for the easy buyer; it doubles as bar too, with two simple beers on tap, their bottles in the fridge, and saucisson as snack. Prices seem a bit on the expensive side. No WiFi. Service has been timid, a bit absent.
Just across the parking from the big Leclerc supermarket. |
62 /100 S’Beer (Beer Store) CHEMIN DU BOIS CANDIDE Perhaps the only specialty beer store in the Pays de Gex (the only one I know of, anyway). That alone sets them apart. Also a bar, although I’ve never sat down and consumed anything. Selection is fair -- a few things from the region, a lot of Belgians, and a few things from Germany, England, and America. Curation is merely ok -- I think there are a fair number of "merely ok" beers in their stock that I’d rather see replaced by something more interesting, but I take what I can get. Prices are not great, but what do you expect. Overall, I’m really glad that this place exists. |
