56 /100 Golden Acorn (JDW) (Bar) 1 NORTH ST The first and probably the worst Wetherspoon Hotel that I have ever stayed in. The walls were pealing, the decor simple and the wife got stuck in the tiny 2-person lift! Located in one of the older, slightly ugly New Town buildings which exemplifies the majority of the planned post-war town, the pub is a large single ground floor room underneath the accommodation with a small rear garden area. The decor is comfortable but ordinarily ’Spoons’, but there’s plenty of room to find your own space and ale drinkers will find a decent rotating selection here. |
