“I was nearby with some extra time on my hands. I had passed through Kirke Hyllinge on my way out, and I remembered from back when Hornbeer was among the best Danish breweries, that their brewery was in Kirke Hyllinge, so I decided to look them up and fortunately they are open on Friday afternoons. We found the farm outside the town easily, and had a look around before finding the shop. There are indoor tables just by the shop, so if you feel like drinking on site, that is an option. They have a pretty standardized setup, where you can buy a mixed case of 20 beers for 450 DKK, and since they had 13 new beers for me, I decided to get seven imperial stouts as fillers. Unfortunately the beer quality is nowhere near what it used to be years ago. The hops are no longer fresh, and in general the new beers are mediocre. Some of the old favorite imperial stouts are still good, but not as good as they used to be. They have around 30 different beers, so if you are nearby on a Friday afternoon and looking for ticks this can be worth a visit, but it’s probably better if you don’t know their name from the past, so you won’t be disappointed in the beer quality.“

“Cosey taproom out in the country. Taproom placed in an old barn. More bottleshop than taproom. Apr. 25 diff bottles from Hornbeer. Low prices. Friendly owner and nice service. Some specials.“
