66 /100 Meny (Køge) (Grocery Store) GYMNASIEVEJ 29 A bit outside the center of Køge. A fairly well-stocked Meny with a good range of the more obscure Danish micros (BrygBrygBryg, Bad Seed, Sidekick) including the local stuff from Braunstein. Decent selection of international Craft beer as well (Firestone, Lemvig, Amundsen). One of the better selections in a Meny. |
60 /100 Richters Ølstue (Bar) VESTERGADE 16 Nice bar in historical building from 1311 with 3 taps (2 unique/their own blond ale and dark weiss, brewed at Stevns) and a selection of app 30-40 Belgian bottles. Friendly staff, mostly correct glass used for beer types and good and informative list of beers on the tables. Nice place, worth a visit if you pass by

8 /100 Netto (Grocery Store) TORVEBYEN 4 This supermarket chain has 459 outlets in Denmark and there is nothing about this particular outlet that merits a seperate entry for it on RateBeer. Furthermore, giving a discount supermarket an ambiance rating of 3 or 4 somewhat undermines the value of the ambiance rating in my book but to each their own. |
48 /100 Old Irish Pub Køge (Bar) HAVNEN 31 Irish theme bar in old industrial workshop, Friendly staff, at times good live music but limited selection (Braunstein, Grimbergen etc and tap and a few bottles)
|
90 /100 Hugo’s Kælder (Bar) BROGADE 19 Jolly medical cellar and courtyard with 18 beers on tap (10-11 often changing) a wide selection of bottled beers, knowledgeable staff and decent prices (especially if you use tge 10-punchcard) - defiantly worth a visit.

48 /100 Netto (Grocery Store) TORVEBYEN 4 Some Danish and foreign beers. |
78 /100 Meny (Køge) (Grocery Store) GYMNASIEVEJ 29 Grocery store with an excellent selection of beers. When I visited there were beers from Goose Island, Adnams, Brewmeister, Dominion, Fordham plus several Danish microbreweries. Worth a visit and the prices are fair. |
52 /100 Netto (Grocery Store) TORVEBYEN 4 This place is a general supermarket with a huge range of grocerys.
The beer-selcetion is not big and varies form week to week depending on the special offers from the manegement. Somedays you can get really nice offers of american, belgian and danish beers, and in general there’s offers on beer from Germany, Poland and the formerly Chekoslovakakia. Expect no help and counceling, this is a discount market - find it for yourself. |

Okay billige priser, særligt i.f.t København. Drak bl.a. en Imperial Stout, og dén blev serveret til perfekt temperatur. "Verdensklasse" i Danmark. |
64 /100 Meny (Køge) (Grocery Store) GYMNASIEVEJ 29 Largest selection in Køge |
94 /100 Hugo’s Kælder (Bar) BROGADE 19 The largest selection of beer in Sealand. |
76 /100 Hugo’s Kælder (Bar) BROGADE 19 Nice celler bar with a nice selection of beers on tap. Staff is friendly and know their beers. Best place on Sealand outside Copenhagen. |
84 /100 Hugo’s Kælder (Bar) BROGADE 19 The local Beerheaven in South Sealand.
18 beers on tap - of which at least 10 is changed ever so often to reflect time of year and customs. Approximately 150 botteled beers in selection + "rarities" (hard to get beers that appear by chance). The ambience in the cellar with the old masonry and thick walls is unique. Beers on tap are very reasonable priced and even subject to a discount when buying a 10 beer punchcard.

76 /100 Hugo’s Kælder (Bar) BROGADE 19 Very nice place in a cellar. Sometimes very crowded (Friday or Saturday). Great selection of beers (many and many fine ones), but a little expensive compared to similar places.
But absolutely a must for a visit when you’re in Køge. |
84 /100 Hugo’s Kælder (Bar) BROGADE 19 The atmosphere is quite fanstastisk - I can not think of a room that is more obvious to a beer bar than this. One of the best places in Denmark if you look away from Copenhagen. Always exciting things on the taps and a solid selection of bottled beers. definitely worth a visit |
78 /100 Hugo’s Kælder (Bar) BROGADE 19 Visited July 9. Saturday, so a bit crowded. Despite the rain we were able to sit outside under large umbrellas. Really cosy cellar with great atmosphere. Great selection, both tap and bottle. A must if in town. |
60 /100 Hugo’s Kælder (Bar) BROGADE 19 Cavelike cellar with a dark and cosy atmosphere. Good selection of draught and bottled beers. Friendly staff that knows what you may expect about beer. In sommertime you may sit in the yard outdoor. On the few occasions I visited the place I did however find it hard to find beers that I had not already tasted. |
52 /100 Køge Vinhandel (Beer Store) BROGADE 19 Wine shop with a large selection of La Rouget de Lisle beers (and no other beers than this). They are the exclusive importer of such beers in Denmark, and I think they are only sold in this shop in Denmark. When i was there, the only bottle size was 75cl, and they had 10 different ones, and the price was 60 DKK each. So I exited fully loaded with beer, but 600 DKK poorer. The owner is keen to explain all the different beers, in laymans terms. |
80 /100 Hugo’s Kælder (Bar) BROGADE 19 Really nice place in a brick cellar with an open fireplace. A fine selection of beers on tap and bottles. Whiskies too. The staff knows their beers. I will be back. |
76 /100 Hugo’s Kælder (Bar) BROGADE 19 This place really do have the potential to have a great atmosphere. Located in a centuries old cellar the room really have a lot of positive energies about it. But it does lack the enthusiastic beer loving crowd to really take off. Unfortunately this has much to do with its location in Køge, where there isn’t that many people who are genuinely interested in and knowledgeable about beer (or wine and food for that matter). They carry a lot of bottled beers and have most major styles covered, although they’re weak on lambic and other sours. The beers on tap are mostly from the local brewery Braunstein + the other two locals Stevns Bryghus and Eastcoast. Apart from these, which you are unlikely to find many other places, you won’t find rarities here, but there’s every opportunity to find a number of good beers to choose from. |
90 /100 Hugo’s Kælder (Bar) BROGADE 19 The best bar in the town where I work, so I´ll be going here sometimes after work I gues.
Good selection og tap beers and lots of bottle beers, US, Belgium, Danish micro and lots of other great and less great beers.
The service is good, they know alot about beers and the place is quit cosy.

54 /100 Køge Vinhandel (Beer Store) BROGADE 19 Good place to get all of the different La Rouget de Lisle beers. Great service and explanation about the beers. Just around the corner from Hugos Vinkælder.

90 /100 Hugo’s Kælder (Bar) BROGADE 19 What a surprise to step down to this cosy old place. No wine around but an outstanding good selection of beers from the thinnest Tiger to the most famous Belgian brews, rare Danish micro brews and some 18 taps of fresh beer. Nice. The lower foundation of the cellar is from the 13th century, a large layer above that is from the 15th century. The open fire place in the middle warms you up from the rainy weather outside. Very friendly owner of the place @ the bar who knows a lot about beer. Their own house brew, Hugo’s Tripel, is a good one to start out with. |
54 /100 Køge Vinhandel (Beer Store) BROGADE 19 Basically a wine merchant, but they also import the full range of the semi-rare French micro brewery La Rouget de Lisle - all in big 75cl bottles. Some excellent, some so-so. But if in Køge this is definitely worth a stop. The owner is friendly and interested in beer in spite of wine still being the main focus. They also have quality chocolates and lots of single malt whiskies. Good on ya. |
86 /100 Hugo’s Kælder (Bar) BROGADE 19 Originally a wine bar Hugo’s has now gone completely beery. They keep an excellent beer menu with focus on Belgian, US micros (even Americans would envy the selection here) and Danish micros. They support local breweries, stage release parties etc. And now they even have their own house beer. Staff is friendly and they know their beer. The setting is extremely cosy as the bar is situated in a very old brick basement. Local high school kids meet up with hardcore beer geeks here. Highly recommended. |
78 /100 Hugo’s Kælder (Bar) BROGADE 19 A local cellar bar located in a passageway. The first striking thing is the front door - a low rounded door - reminded me of a Hobbit door in Lord of the Rings, then down an old stone staircase to a low stonewalled, wood cealing quite dark room, with a fire burning in the open fireplace. Really cozy. The service was friendly and OK knowledgeable about their beer. The selection was at the moment 9 draft beers and 80 bottled, but plans for next years should see the selection grow to 140 bottled. The selection is wide from mainstream macro over Danish microbrews, to a good selection of international beer including 8 Trappists. I went by for a world premiere beer, and probably will return for more local hard to get beers. |
