“Decent restaurant with good food (surprisingly, except pizza) and 3 solid brews. Nice ambiance & service.“

“2016 update:
Restoran Tomislav & Pilnica as the outlets remain must-visits if in the area. The price-value-quality ratio is literally incomparable in Croatia, both for beer and for food. Having eaten Wiener Schnitzel, Ribs and pizza again, with potatoes & their hot sauce, nothing was below "quite good" and is often excellent. The beers have grown in quality, the pale and the dark lagers are often excellent for what they are, their APA is above-average for Croatia and their Hefe (Šenka) can be good too. All are a steal at the prices there. Very good service. There is a pub downstairs if you wish so. Lipnik equipment in the back. If you’re in the area, unless you’re on a very tight schedule, there is NO reason not to visit this place, even if you’ve had the beers before.

2013:
That’s how it goes... something like a month ago I learn from an acquaintance from Bjelovar that the former Križevačka Pivnica has recommenced brewing and that they should have beer soon immediately. Wary, especially since there’s no info online, I awaited confirmation from others, and when I got it, it didn’t take much for Ogi, Maja & me to arrange a trip there (thanks btw!). The location is as attractive as it can be in Križevci, smack in the middle of the main square, with a patio that I could imagine being quite bigger than it is. The square was dead on a Wednesday evening/night though, but still nice. It’s a multiple-story affair, it seems, with a restaurant part upstairs and a pub part downstairs, possibly more, but I didn’t explore. Nicely decorated, nothing too wild, but quaint, appealing, wood, drawings/sketches... The restaurant part was nearly empty, though the more pub-like part downstairs seemed relatively busy. Very good, fast service. Their lager, which they apparently started brewing in 1996 or something (when they were called Križevačka Pivnica, then stopped at some point and recommenced now) is standard micro/brewpub Cro/Slo fare. Appealing in some ways, but a bit thin, and the price is quite attractive. They have a good selection of bottled macros too. The food was good, ok, nothing too wild, but priced fairly and of adequate portions, and I wholeheartedly recommend "pekarska garnitura" as a side dish, really good value at 8kn. The pizzas are, for example, quite cheap compared to most of Zagreb and especially the coast, and while not thrilling, the one I had was good and I’d try a different sort next time without any qualms. A worthwhile detour or stop when in this area, and since it’s what, an hour from Zagreb, if that, it’s can be a worthwhile addition to your plans if you’re there, but do go by day - the scenery of Prigorje & all.“
