“We visited here Friday 16th August 2019, we had cycled from our campsite into Kufstein and was a little disappointed with the lack of beer options in this town. *Disclaimer - Please do not think that this is a beer oasis, because it isn't, however it was a pleasant place to sit outside and sup a beer or two and to find beers that were unfamiliar to me. The place is quite easy to find, it is at what I would describe as being at the top end of town, just a little further along from the castle (or whatever that is that the furnicular takes you up to) it is a large place on a corner. It has a feel of slightly faded grandeur with it's best days possibly behind it, but I quite like that and actually it was welcoming, popular and service was swift and demeanour of staff was friendly. I don't know what the beer selection stretched to, however I had a Swiss beer, namely Egger Albertus Hell and Loz had a German offering namely Maxlrainer Leo Weisse which I understand is Bavarian. We sat outside in the sun watching the world go by, I briefly nipped in to use the toilets and even then was unable to determine how many taps or bottle they had. So in short this is absolutely not a beer destination, but it was fine and if you want a sit outside on a sunny day with a beer it will fit the bill perfectly, particularly as this appears to be a town that seemed a little short of beery options.“

“We visited here Monday 19th August 2019 after a few days away in Austria, first at Walchsee and then deeper into the Tyrol in Mayrhofen where we met Mum and Keith. The shop is a large Interspar, in fact I think that it is more of a Hypermarket. It is located just across the river to the south of the 171 road. You can probably get here from the centre via foot or public transport, however it is one of those places which is more car friendly than pedestrian friendly.

As it is so large and as it is Austrian as opposed to German it is very well stocked with a huge and great range of products. To find the beers zoom through the fruit, veg' fish and meat area and head towards the rear moving over just slightly to the left. There is a decent though not exhaustive range of beers with a few of the core range from Bevog, Bierol, BrewAge and Brewdog (all the B's I note). There are more regional offerings but these were the key ones. I picked up about 20+ beers of which 2/3rds were new rates, prices were also reasonable. “

“the Interspar is a large Spar supermarket near the city centre of Kufstein, near Lidl, Aldi, dm, Wine & Co etc. The beer selection is okay. I found many dozens of new Austrian beer - of course these beers were all standard and boring beers, but nevertheless. But there is also a corner with craft beers ( BrewDog, some Belgians...), but I found no new beer for myself in this section. I noticed that there were almost more Radlers / Low alcohols available than "normal" beers (and no single Bock or something stronger to be found) - of course I analyzed this by now ( sixth day in the mountains of Austria), but i don’t want to bother any of you with that. Prices of the beers were okay, around 80 Cent / 1 Euro per bottle. You will also find two local Mosts (in 1 l plastic bottles) and a nice Cider (in a 0.75l champagne bottle) there.“

“This restaurant is located in the center of Kufstein, near the Altstadt. The selection of beers is okay until low, but you will find the Egger Zwickl there, plus some more from Egger and some from Erdinger. As we went there for dinner, I ordered their sour Schnitzel with homemade potato salad and it was absolutely tasty and special due to its sourness. I loved it. The service was absolutely wonderful, they took their time to start a conservation and to do some small talk and the boss was also very curious how we liked the Schnitzel and why we orderd it etc. Very friendly and hospitable people - the whole team. Example: When we just sat down, the waitress came at first with big painting pencils and some paper to get our little girl ( 3 yrs) entertained. You really don’t find something like that everywhere. The prices were ok, the selection of food a little bit too small ( but therefore very well done and very tasty). I would come back, just along for the atmosphere.“
