78 /100 165 PINEY CREEK ROAD This place made my entire daytrip from Boone worthwhile. The area is beautiful, then from the road the place looks like an abandoned mill. But you drive around back and - voila! - a nicely appointed tasting room with a covered patio. Kate and husband have apple trees about 15 minutes north of here, and also buy others’ apples, cider is made onsite. Guided tastings are free, and samples are served in nice glassware, brandy snifter-esque. Their semi-dry cider was awesome and the rest were tasty; the blueberry cider was very creative. Bottles for sale, all under 15 bucks. No food. Ample parking. Worth a detour. |
