“It's a grocery store. Employees are nice and helpful, but some are definitely more knowledgeable than others. Pretty good selection: about 35% craft, 20% flavored, 25% domestic, 20% import. Pretty much all the basics, plus some local surprises. Bound by their distributors like most grocery stores, so pretty slim chance of special orders, but I've been surprised by them before. They have wine, but I haven't really explored it. If you want to drink there (why?) you can have up to two beers with food. Surprisingly good sushi, okay chicken, soup ranges from good to great, salad is expensive but pretty fresh. Eaten there for a quick lunch several times. Priced well for the area. Competitive with Weis up the strip: if Giant doesn't have it, check there, and vice-versa. If you want to just grab something on your way out (or get something on a Sunday) you could do worse.“

“PA law has opened up and is allowing a gradual phase in for off premise sales by supermarkets. Weis Markets in WV have been selling beer for some time; one is close to me and its selection is much better than the Lewisburg store“

The Lewisburg Hotel (Restaurant)
136 MARKET STREET
“Lots of BMC on tap and in bottles. The restaurant is in the nicer part of the hotel. They also have a bar area that leads to the dodgier motel part. The occasional highlight is rarely reason enough for me to go there. The food in the restaurant is a bit more upmarket and flashy then the pub grub in the bar. Nothing was bad, it just wasn’t outstanding.“

“Good draft selection, could be a few more bottles to chose from. Very friendly staff and great prices.“

“Great atmosphere. Best quesadilla in the area. Over 30 taps with constant rotation. Really good food for the region and they have the NFL Sunday ticket package. 9/8/16 update. They still have the same number of taps with a fair amount of BMC and lot of really crappy craft. Food is still solid. They’re no longer open on Sunday’s for some reason so the NFL Sunday Ticket is meaningless. This place had great promise when it opened but has grown stagnant.“

The Beer Barn (Beer Store)

“It’s a barn with beer. The selection, being PA, is all case of mainly lager type products though they also have the occasional case of chimay or troegs. It’s only one of three beer stores in town so service or selection is not exactly a strongpoint. I never go here now that Weis sells large bottles and sixers.“

“One of the few grocery stores that sells beer in PA because they purchased a liquor license and meet the minimum chair requirement for a restaurant. You can only buy 2 sixers at one time but they have a separate entrance and nothing prevents you from making multiple trips. They have some Belgian bottles (Duvel, Chimay, Lindemans, Boon) as well as some local stuff like Troegs, Lancaster, Victory. They continue to add different large bottles. The staff know nothing about beer, as you might expect, and they card everybody.(August 7, 2011 update)They recently added a make your own sixer section. Not a great selection but a step in the right direction. (12/6/15) Lots of changes at Weis ,all of them for the better. They’ve recently expanded both the number and the quality of their offerings as well as expanded their pick six and bomber section. They’ve also tried to pay more attention to customer service. They also seem to be paying way more attention to keeping stock fresh. I usually stop in once a week and find some things I haven’t sample yet. I wouldn’t call this a destination location but it’s a pretty solid neighborhood spot.“

“Best bar in town in terms of sheer quantity. Nearly 100 beers available though could do more with the taps since they tend to be of the the lager, lionshead variety. Food is typical for area which is to say not great. Nice place to go with a group of people Update: As of a month ago the Bull Run Inn is now the Bull Run Tap House. The back bar area which used to be full of liquor and the bottles they served is now home to 35 taps. They also have additional taps at their side bar as well as increased emphasis in sixers to go. They also dedicate 5-6 taps for locals. It’s still a work in progress since a 1/4 of the taps are of the BMC variety and they have way too many of the Leinenkugel, Magic Hat, and Long Trail variety and their servers don’t seem to know a ton about beer. Still it’s a small sign of progress. 2nd update. Visited for the first time in years. They’ve taken over the Irish pub that used to be next door to little effect. They’ve also really deemphasized craft beer. They had maybe 15-20 taps with half BMC and the other half easy to find philly craft stuff. All those craft bottles from around the world have also gone. There’s really no reason to go here.“

“I used to frequent this place because they offered a really good Guinness special Friday nights. I stopped going because changed the Guinness specials to goofy martini specials. What I liked best about this place was that they offer Buzztime Trivia, and the atmosphere is nice and calm, unless Bucknell is in session. They’ve got a good selection of beer, and the bartenders are very friendly. They have a decent menu, about what you’d expect from a neighborhood bar, but the food is pretty tasty.“

“Located in the center of Lewisburg right next to the center park, it’s a large bar/pub/restaurant, decent enough for family dining but also good enough for a drinking session. Nothing spectacular on tap, but a number of bottles, including new Copper Kettle 12oz bottles, which was the purpose of my visit. Salad was okay, nothing special, staff was typical. I would not suggest you go hear over Selins Grover, in fact the only reason to go here is if you’re in town for some other reason, or if you specifically want to try a couple of the new Copper Kettle beers.“

“Food is pretty good and well priced. The beer selection is pretty good, but they are usually out of about half of the best beers. The beer is really expensive too - much more than the food. It is more fun when it isn’t as crowded. Cool bar staff.“

“This is one of the few bars in town. Although they carry over 70 bottles of beer - nothing really rare. A few belgians including the Deliriums and the chimays. Nice staff, friendly people, but not a great place to get food. Recently under new ownership.“
