“A really small microbrewery drifted by pure enthusiasts. Friendly staff that know their business but rather short opening times that varies a lot, a must check before visiting place. Not so much to see and do, but drop by for a chat and a few fresh beers if possible!“

“Nice little restaurant and fish shop close to the waterfront. Part, glass covered patio makes it possible to sit outdoor even at colder days. Focus on fish and shellfish dishes. Friendly and helpful service. Visited in March bit they told us they use to have some more beers during summer. Focus on Kjerlingland Brygghus, one on tap and five, six more bottles in the fridge including their very own special recipe made for this restaurant. There is also a few bottles from Nøgne Ø to be found and one bottle of Brooklyn together with some more mainstream lagers from CB, Carlsberg etc. at this particular day. They had a beer makers dinner arrangement the same week and I got the feeling this was a big success that might be repeated.“

“Not a beer place by the normal definition, but a fine, historic hotel where the chef decided to start brewing some beer to be served only by this location. So far (August 2018) they have brewed three different styles. Not any challenging stuff and not worth a detour for the beers themselves in less you go for the tick or just think it would be fun to taste something super local. The staff was super friendly and took here time to explain everything she know about the beers and the brewer. The score would of course be low as a beer place, but it’s still a nice place to visit just for the atmosphere and novelty.“

“A Meny chain grocery store that has a decent selection of the usual larger craft suspects, but there's nothing particular going on here. Better to visit Matkroken downtown Lillesand.“

“This is the venue formerly know as Smaal. Not much changed, except the menu and a bit less focus on the beers. Still, it's a very nice place to have some food and/or beer when in Lillesand, especially when the temp is in the high range, but also rest of the year, enjoying some good food or beer served by a freiendly staff. Lillesand is a very small town, so the walk from Vinmonopolet via Matkroken and Hotel Norge to TT should only take you five minutes or so. Plus the stopping time of course. And don't forget that Danish-ish pub just across the parking lot.“

“Lovely location at a farm just outside Lillesand. Just call the brewer if you are in the area, and they will surely let you in. The opening hours are otherwise quite limited.
Ok you can only buy beers at 4,7% or below. But they had about 8 different at my visit. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Well wort a visit.“

“I think the selection was quite ok for a grocery store in a rather small town like this. Very close to Lillesand Hotel and Kingdom of Denmark at the main square in Lillesand. I found some bottles from breweries that are quite rare in other parts of Norway“

“Just across the street if you have visited Lillesand Hotel. Small cousy brown and narrow corner pub. But absolutely a decent beer selection. Strangely enough did they have some rare beers from Haandbryggeriet. Not from Nøgne Ø that is kind of local.“

“Lovely Nice hotel in a smal idyllic town. Very close to the water front.
Friendlay and relaxed atmosphere.
They do also brew their own beer. So that was the main reason to visit this place at my visit.
Hmmmm I did not end that beer. And I did not have to pay for it either.
Other batches have been better. And I do hope the next one improve a lot!“

“Very big Meny store, close to E18 and with lots of free parking. Veru´y good beer selection, must be the best place for 4,7% beers in the area. (Visited 2.3.18 with Bryne)“

“Small corner pub opposite Lillesand Hotell, close to the waterfront with a view of the parking place, the beer selection is not any better than the view, on tap that is, but the bottled selection was rather impressive, lots of Haandbryggeriet, nice. (Visited with Bryne 2.3.18)“

“Located close to the waterfront at this idyllically village, old charming building with a nice restaurant and, they brew at the premises. Bottles only for the time beeing. As Bryne put it, tasty food-awful beer, the Kolsch was sour, we were satisfyed, a new brewery tops this failure easy ! (Visited with Bryne 2.3.18)“

“Easily accessible by car unlike the rather crooked and narrow streets in the town centre. As all Meny grocery stores, this one also has a decent beer selection. Local beers from Nøgne Ø, Arendals, Kjerlingland, Homborsund, Hunsfos and Qvart. (Visited March 2nd 2018 with Gunnar) “

“Nice little corner bar opposite Lillesand Hotel Norge. Crap on tap but a decent bottle selection. Good range from Haandbryggeriet, a bit strange since Nøgne Ø is the big thing in this part of Norway? Anyway, "HaandBryggeriet / Bakunin Varanger Fjord" is a bottle you don't expect to find in a small local pub in a rural town. (Visited March 2nd 2018 with Gunnar) “

“A small grocery store with somewhat decent beer selection. But, no way there were 200 different beers in the shelves at our visit in March. Convenient for tourists during summertime. Look for local breweries but I guess you won't find any bottles not available in the bigger grocery store Meny just outside the city centre. (Visited March 2nd 2018 with Gunnar)“

“An average Vinmonopolet store, selection isn’t great but what you expect to find in a small town in Norway. Well, you can find a bottle or two from the local brewery, Kjerlingland. (Visited March 2nd 2018 with Gunnar)“

“Charming old hotel in a picturesque small coastal town. Popular during summertime but we visited when it was freezing cold and snow to our knees. We came for lunch and of course their beer, "Saltholmen Kölsch" Not a typical brewpub, but more a restaurant serving their beer in bottles. Nice restaurant, friendly service, decent food but awful beer. They had plan for more beers, I hope the result is better next time. (Visited March 2nd 2018 with Gunnar)“

“Since Smaal closed the doors, this is as far as I know the best place in town if you're looking for craft brews. The selection is small and varied, and not constant. They serve delicious Danish style open face sandwiches, smørrebrød, and you can have a draft Carlsberg with those. Unfortunately, Carlsberg is the only draft beer they got, so have a look in the fridge instead. Can get quite crowded and noisy in the weekends, especially at night.“

“At the moment, only open one hour each Friday, for beer sales only. No drinking on the premises, and only beers at 4.7 or below. It's one og the smallest breweries in Norway, at least when it comes to square meters of the brewery, but they make good beers and are friendly people, so if you plan to visit the area, it's a nice place for a beer talk and to buy some beers or merch.“

“A cozy and friendly old hotel next to the waterfront. Not a beery place at all, but the chefs decided to start brewing so they have their own beer, or beers, at the hotel only. The also carry a small range of beers from Kjerlingland and perhaps some other local ones. Haven't tried the food here for many years, so I don't add a score for that.“

“Seems to have a bit more focus on beer than most Vinmonopolet stores this size, but it’s far from extravagant. Some interesting beers from around the world and the usual Norwegian ones. Guess Lillesand is too close to Kristiansand to ever get a much broader selection, even though the small grocery store in the other end of town centre has a very good selection of the store strength beers.“

“For a small town like Lillesand the selection is very good and ecept for macro lagers, there’s mostly good beers to be found. It’s just a very small grocery store, most of the staff are not into beer, so don’t expect too much help if you don’t know what’s the most interesting Norwegian beers to buy, but it’s definitely worth a visit anyway.“
