60 /100 Beer House (Restaurant) LUDWIGSPLATZ 8 The beer house was the former Moni's Nudelhaus, an average pasta place, which repositioned itself as a restaurant / bar, specialized in beer. They have quite a selection of draft beers, though mostly pilsener type beers. They have some interesting bottled beers, including quite a few belgian ones. The waiters are the same as those who served pizza in the past and know very little about the beers. When I ordered an IPA that was on draft, the waiter could not tell me the brand and also could not find out. "Well, it's english", he commented. This is not a bad place for Ludwigshafen to get together for a beer, though nothing for beer-lovers to regularly visit. |
74 /100 SCHILLERSTRASSE 8 Taproom and restaurant of the brewery. Very crowded on Saturday evening but I got a place directly at the bar. 7 taps of their beers and a few bottles aswell. You can easily tick 10 beers of Mayers here, but no tasters and smallest glasses are 300ml. |
68 /100 SCHILLERSTRASSE 8 Visited in mid July. About a 10 min walk from station
Venue attached to the brewery, large terrace outside on 2 levels. A good range of beer on tap. Managed a few in less than an hour.
Worth a visit if passing |
52 /100 SCHILLERSTRASSE 8 Visited a couple of times between 2010 and 2011 Mayer’s is a commercial brewery, not a traditional brewpub, and this is its Ausshank (taproom); the look of it goes from "traditional" to "old", all timber, and at times a bit claustrophobic. The waitress helped me a great deal with my tasting; they actually have 7 draught beers (3 of which quite drinkable) and a few bottles. A place to go just for the ticks. |
