74 /100 Auchan Cloche d'Or (Grocery Store) 25, RUE FRIEDRICH WILHELM RAIFEISEN Supermarket with a good selection of local beers. |
82 /100 The Store (Beer Store) 11, AVENUE DE LA LIBERTÉ Bar with a good selection of craft beers. |
80 /100 Artisan'Ale (Internet-based) 11, AVENUE DE LA LIBERTÉ The Store is now at this location. So I gave a rating under The Store listing... |
54 /100 Brasserie Cathedrale (Bar) 9 R. BECK A place to get lunch and a beer when walking town rather than ticking or unique craft. But a couple of Luxembourg beers that I had not found elsewhere. |
62 /100 Rock Solid (Bar) 30, RUE DE LA POSTE Small bar with ~20 taps an about same bottle. Mostly standard stuff and a lot of hazys. Worth dropping in if eating as well but otherwise not too inspiring. |
80 /100 The Store (Beer Store) 11, AVENUE DE LA LIBERTÉ Tiny store with a couple of taps. Unique taps, but more unique Euro craft in the coolers. Definite place to stop and maybe the only really craft experience in the City |
12 /100 Crossfire Bar (Bar) 15 RUE DICKS Agree with mcberko. Not worthy of a RateBeer listing. No craft or service |
68 /100 Ënnert de Steiler (Bar) 2 RUE DE LA LOGE Stumbled on this place by chance, pleasantly surprised to discover one of the more diverse draft beer selections for this part of the world. Friendly, multi-lingual staff. I think they had 6 (maybe 8?) different drafts, including some local-ish craft beer offerings beyond the typical helles/pils/weizen range. Worth a stop if you're in town. |
28 /100 12 RIVES DE CLAUSEN Close to the city center, this is a interestingly re-done industrial space (maybe the old Mousel brewery?). Like many European brewpubs, they only had two house beers to choose from, neither of which stood out from the crowded field of light Euro lagers. Service was kinda snooty. We went early, so it was still pretty quiet. Oddly, the center of the space looks like it converts into some kind of Euro dance club at night. Not really sure they really brew here -- no signs of a brewhouse -- or if it's just an outlet for Clausel. But I'll take credit ... Brewery #1010. |
64 /100 12 RIVES DE CLAUSEN Visited in July 2023. Big beer hall in an interesting old factory area filled with restaurants. Interesting to try some traditional Luxembourgish food. Not a huge beer selection, but the lager beers were actually pretty good. |
68 /100 Auchan Cloche d'Or (Grocery Store) 25, RUE FRIEDRICH WILHELM RAIFEISEN Supermarket, but good beer selection. International selection good, but was of course there for Luxembourg beers. Maybe ten different Luxembourg breweries and a cidery. Prices were good. |
40 /100 Cactus, Belle Etoile Shopping Centre (Beer Store) ROUTE D’ARLON L-8050 BERTRANGE Visited on a Friday morning. Big supermarket, lacks charm. Lacks much of a selection beyond a few standards. Save your time and drive out to Pall Center for more rewarding shopping. |
64 /100 Urban Luxembourg City (Bar) 2 RUE DE LA BOUCHERIE Cool place, nice outside seats. Good tap selection, lot of local stuff, but a few in poor condition. Kitchen closes early. |
42 /100 Rocas Café (Bar) 33 RUE DES CAPUCINS Pretty rough local corner pub.Small tap selection, nothing really good. Decent bottle selection. A bit curt stuff, bordering on rude. |
72 /100 Rock Solid (Bar) 30, RUE DE LA POSTE A rock music dominated place. Rustic interior, large outside area. Decent selection. Friendly service. |
82 /100 Auchan Cloche d'Or (Grocery Store) 25, RUE FRIEDRICH WILHELM RAIFEISEN Great place in Luxembourg to by different beer |
74 /100 12 RIVES DE CLAUSEN 2022 rating: big place, ok service, good prices, beers brewed on the spot, beers in ok condition. |
62 /100 Scott’s Pub (Bar) 4 BISSERWEG 2022 rating: mostly macros on tap, but weather was warm, we were thirsty and beer was cold.. service is friendly, and prices are ok by local standards. |
60 /100 Updown Bar (Bar) 28 MONTÉE DU GRUND 2022 rating: another one of those "a cafe that has some beer options". But again we did manage to find a couple of ticks, so again it wasn't useless stop.. |
60 /100 Urban Luxembourg City (Bar) 2 RUE DE LA BOUCHERIE 2022 rating: what Marduk said, basically a cafe that has some beer options. But we did manage to find a couple of ticks, so it wasn't useless stop.. |
50 /100 The Britannia Pub (Bar) 69 ALLÈE PIERRE DE MANSFELD 2022 rating: kind of typical "British pub" you usually can find outside of UK. No cask or anything interesting beer wise. |
72 /100 139 AV. DU BOIS 2022 rating: located away from the center. More cafe than beer bar. Belgian beer oriented, but they had some exclusive contract brewed stuff, so worth thee visit. |
72 /100 Rock Solid (Bar) 30, RUE DE LA POSTE 2022 rating: ok selection of craft, including locals. One of the better places in Lux, which doesn't say much as there aren't that many good spots... |
78 /100 Artisan'Ale (Internet-based) 11, AVENUE DE LA LIBERTÉ 2019 : No surprise that it isn’t far from anything else and the rout from the modern art museum was an interesting one, slightly out of centre I suppose but absolutely no issue. About 50 bottles and cans with half of them in refrigerated. Belgian (including lambiek), Scandinavian, Spanish etc. beer selection, you will find a solid selection of currently popular craft beers here. Interenationally not a huge selection but excellent for local standards, prices are Luxemburgish but not too bad. Friendly service, modern somewhat sparse appearance. Some beers available in growlers. Totenhopfen being the one Luxemburgish brewery but that isn’t too surprising. Not essential but really good by local standards being most if not all bar selections locally and the other beer store around appears to be way out of town. Definitely worth checking out, they seem to have an online shop as well. |
30 /100 Crossfire Bar (Bar) 15 RUE DICKS Just off a main street, this is a tiny, quaint little place with 5-6 more-or-less garbage taps. A few uninteresting bottles too. No point coming here. Head on up the hill to Rock Solid instead as we did. |
64 /100 Rock Solid (Bar) 30, RUE DE LA POSTE One of the best spots in town nowadays, but that's not saying much. They have 20 taps, lots of them being filled by Luxembourgish beers, the rest being mostly generic (but somewhat decent) European stuff. 0.3 or 0.5L pours, but staff are happy to do tastes. Bottle selection is pretty solid though, with some interesting things from around Europe. Prices are OK. Patio is nice for warmer months; inside is homey and quaint. Worth a stop when in Lux. |
76 /100 The Store (Beer Store) 11, AVENUE DE LA LIBERTÉ The place to go in Luxembourg for the beer connoisseur. Several coolers of local and European craft. Six taps and comfortable seating, although this small place will fill up quickly on a busy night. Very friendly and helpful staff. We visited twice, once to shop and once to drink. Fun stop. |
58 /100 The Tube (Bar) 8 RUE SIGEFROI Has a cellar bar vibe. Friendly staff. Not too many beers on tap, but few ticks anyway. |
72 /100 139 AV. DU BOIS A very nice place with good selection and food. Worth a visit for sure. |
60 /100 Urban Luxembourg City (Bar) 2 RUE DE LA BOUCHERIE We arrived afternoon, so it was well open. Kind of bleak place. Reminds me more of a late evening cocktail/getsmashedbeforegoingtodisco type of place rather than beer destination. Oh well they serve beer and we were here. All well. |
74 /100 Rock Solid (Bar) 30, RUE DE LA POSTE Rock bar in downtown. Despite it's kind of smelly it's a nice place with very good selection. I'd have to say one of the best selections in town. Worth to visit. |
68 /100 139 AV. DU BOIS It was a surprise find in nowhere in Luxemburg. We took tram to here and walked quite a bit, but actually bus nr 2 seems to stop 30m from entrance. They seem to be client or contract brewers for some French brewery. Staff was friendly and prices reasonable. Worth to visit I guess. |
52 /100 The Britannia Pub (Bar) 69 ALLÈE PIERRE DE MANSFELD Down the hill from old town area. An English pub, run by Englishman. We came here to watch football match and weren't disappointed. Beers on tap are mostly macros and prices are higher than normal. Don't be fooled that you order beer from tap and get bottle instead. Owner had multiple excuses why it happened. So you are warned. |
52 /100 Updown Bar (Bar) 28 MONTÉE DU GRUND Just across the bridge from Scott's Pub. Weird place. It tries to be fancy, but doesn't carry it out. It also tries to look like cafe, but fails. So all in all dunno what kind of place it is. They had seats outside so we enjoyed our beers there. |
68 /100 Scott’s Pub (Bar) 4 BISSERWEG In the old town of Luxembourg city. Looks like modern place, but tries to imitate old pub feeling. Mainly macros on tap, but nice and friendly service. |
76 /100 12 RIVES DE CLAUSEN Quite huge place, but since it was hot outside we decided to sit outside. Fast service. Bit expensive. Not too far from the center. 4 beers on tap + at least 3 different bottles too. Worth to visit. |
72 /100 The Tube (Bar) 8 RUE SIGEFROI Dark bar with nice and chill outside sitting. The beers on tap were rather uninteresting (some belgian classics and the lux macro lagers) but the bottle selection was rather good. Asked for something lux and the staff kindly took a few bottles out the fridge and showed me what they have. Prices were ok. (I believe it doesnt get much cheaper in lux). Overall i'd say worth a visit. |
84 /100 Bouneweger Stuff (Bar) 1 RUE DU CIMETIERE Cozy place with great food |
90 /100 Auchan Cloche d'Or (Grocery Store) 25, RUE FRIEDRICH WILHELM RAIFEISEN Great beer selection |
66 /100 Artisan'Ale (Internet-based) 11, AVENUE DE LA LIBERTÉ A decent web shop with one thing really going for it: It has a rotating selection of beers from Luxembourg. I have ordered here twice and for my second purchase there were six new Luxembourg beers, which was more than expected. I will be popping by once in a while to see if they are able to keep the rotation up. |
76 /100 Rock Solid (Bar) 30, RUE DE LA POSTE Rocking Beer-Bar located downtown Luxembourg. Simple interieur, but early opening, rocking music and about 13 beers on tap. Nice selection of local beers as well as beers from abroad. Serving tasters. Fair prices, smart staff. |
70 /100 The Tube (Bar) 8 RUE SIGEFROI Good location at the pedestrian area. Too bad though that they did not open until 5 p.m. Had and unfriendly receipt. "You are only allowed to drink sitting" I was told when I ordered a beer at the bar. No seats indoor but I had a seat outdoor. Noisy music indoor resulted in people shouting at each others to be heard. The room to noisy for me. A couple of TV sets added to the noise. 7 taps, 19 bottled beers in fridges. All of them unknown to me. I asked for a beer list and was given a plastic coated card with 2 QR codes. Draught beers on one side, bottled beers on the other smart. Good idea if you have a smart phone. Would, however, have liked to have it presented as a service without having to ask for it. Unfortunately the service level is generally very low in Luxembourg City. You have to ask if you want something, you are seldomly given anything as a service. Beers good at The Tube though. |
52 /100 Urban Luxembourg City (Bar) 2 RUE DE LA BOUCHERIE Nice location at the pedestrian area of the city. Please to however notice that the bar/restaurant does not open until 11.30 a.m. I arrived at 10 a.m. and was told that they were not open yet. Arrrived half and hour later, and once more half an hour later and finally again at 11.30. At none of my first visits I was told when they were going to open. I could choose amoung 2 café tables indoor. Many seats outdoor but it rained heavily and I did not trust the parasols. 13 taps, 2 of the with cider. Beers on tap: Bufferdin, Battin, Urban Pils, Twisted Cat. 14 bottled beers shown on a board in the bar. Prices high. The restaurant seemed more important than the bar. Staff arogant and uninterested in offer service. The man behind the bar did however take care of me. |
100 /100 Rock Solid (Bar) 30, RUE DE LA POSTE Great music, amazing choice of beers and best happy hour in Lux city |
100 /100 Artisan'Ale (Internet-based) 11, AVENUE DE LA LIBERTÉ Great online shop, easy to use website with an enourmous selection of craft beers |
32 /100 Paname (Bar) 50 RUE SAINTE ZITHE What a ponzi place - no craft beer available except maybe their own generic homebrew style beer sold at too high prices and of which service had no clue about. A show off place and nothing to go out of the way for. |
72 /100 Crossfire Bar (Bar) 15 RUE DICKS Small little sportsbar offering the generic beers one finds in the country at first glance but also offers a good choice of craft beers which is a welcoming change to see. Craft beer range is constantly changing and the bar manager is a right character.
The place is also known for their burgers and attracting an international crowd. Things go hand in hand here. |
