86 /100 Molta Malta (Bar) CARRER D’EN XAMMAR 5 Great place in Mataró, where it's not easy to find such a specialised place with so many varieties of craft beer with great service. Truly recommended! |
92 /100 The Drunk Monk (Bar) VIA EUROPA, 30 Millor selecció de cerveses, no belgues, cada dia. |
100 /100 Molta Malta (Bar) CARRER D’EN XAMMAR 5 Espai molt acollidor i agradable, ben ambientat.
76 /100 The Drunk Monk (Bar) VIA EUROPA, 30 pretty lookin’ very Belgian ’brown bar’ inspired beerbar. Very remote to any area you’ll find yourself in ( about half an hour by train, I guess, from BCN, plus a walk of about 1.8 km ) as the bar opens only at 18.00, you only have a limited window before your last train back to BCN at about 22.20 ( weekends ) So it’s definately a stretch. The bar itself has the biggest ’Belgian’ feel I ever had in another country. The old-looking, crappy menu booklet ( torn plastic covers over printer sheets ) , random Belgian beers ( some very small and cool breweries, some bigger ones that do raise questions, and some local unimportant ones that somehow made it all over to Spain ) . The interior ( random selection of all beersigns found ). The music ( crappy 80’s music ) , right down to the atmosphere and even the scent of the bar. This thing is as Belgian as a Belgian bar is . love bars like, say, Brugs beertje ? you’ll find all your needs here. However, the craftbeerscene has seen a rapid movement and this place did seem to follow a bit, but not enough. It doesn’t compete with BCN bars like mikkeller, brewdog, biercap, or Napar. It’s great, and I’m sure it used to be amazing, but it has been surpassed. The food was very good ( and cheap ) but not th? best. The service was nice, but wasn’t very attentive after our first order ( unless we walked to the bar ) . overall - if in the area, sure woth a visit ! but who ever is ? When in BCN ( close by ) there are already several other, more beergeeky options. Unless you’ll miss out on belgian bars otherwise, or when you’re a place ticker like me, there isn’t a big reason to travel here. However , when you are in , there’s a pleasant vibe and several good beers for honest prices. |
82 /100 Molta Malta (Bar) CARRER D’EN XAMMAR 5 Very good atmosphere in the center of Mataro. Wide variety of beers on tap and in bottles. Good food. Expert advice. Cold storage chamber to preserve the properties of craft beers. |
100 /100 Molta Malta (Bar) CARRER D’EN XAMMAR 5 A beatiful place in Mataró for drink and discover spanish beers and beers around the world (also rare)
I reccomend to visit this place |
92 /100 The Drunk Monk (Bar) VIA EUROPA, 30 Still doing good job. this place is the reference in spain. |
Recomendable 100% |
98 /100 Molta Malta (Bar) CARRER D’EN XAMMAR 5 Really awesome place in Mataró city center. Wide selection of craft beers, cool homebrew sets and accessories, good service to the customers and 5 beers on tap to fill your growler. |
78 /100 The Drunk Monk (Bar) VIA EUROPA, 30 Visited the 3rd March with happyhoppy before the Barcelona Beer Festival. On the small town of Mataro in north of Barcelona you will fine this treasure. When you enter the tap beer selection is amazing... how can you get Oerbier on tap ?!? Very nice place and peaceful. Good belgian beer range for a good value. You will find also some treasure on the fridge. Good staff. That was a good evening with some nice beer. Difficult to find but if you have time and you are on the area it’s a must to stop just for the belgian selection. Thanks for the greeting and the selection. |
94 /100 The Drunk Monk (Bar) VIA EUROPA, 30 A typical belgian beer bar in the center off Mataro with a Nice atmosphere. Price off the draft beers are ok |
88 /100 The Drunk Monk (Bar) VIA EUROPA, 30 This place is pretty out of the way, since even if you take the train to Mataró you have to walk about 20 minutes up a hill and search for the location, but it’s worth it. They were doing a steady business when I was there, but everyone was ordering lager and pale ales; which was pretty disappointing considering the deep bottle list this place has been stockpiling for a significant period of time. The atmosphere feels like sitting in Belgium. I enjoyed a burger and a few regional taps along with a bottle of Kuhnhenn 4th Dimentia (you see how they roll). Service was kind and attentive. This place is definitely a landmark in the area. |
80 /100 The Drunk Monk (Bar) VIA EUROPA, 30 A nice place in the outskirts of Barcelona. Mainly belgian and german brews on tap, along with some modern ones. A really wide bottle selection, topped up with an interesting selection of lambics (despite they were out of a couple we did ask for). Unfortunatelly the place seems to have been going down since Sven left. Still worthy, if in the surroundings. |
92 /100 Molta Malta (Bar) CARRER D’EN XAMMAR 5 Great local shop, full of craft beers, great variety, growlers, 5 always on tap. |
86 /100 The Drunk Monk (Bar) VIA EUROPA, 30 Great place. That’s incredible to find a place like that in a small city like Mataro. If you are arround here, no doubt is the best option to drink great quality beer. |
92 /100 The Drunk Monk (Bar) VIA EUROPA, 30 Very nice Belgian beer bar with an international selection of beers. 15 beers on draft and a huge selection of bottles at reasonable prices. The food is simple, tasty and very cheap. Great service and atmosphere. |
