54 /100 Neue Post (Restaurant) HAUPSTR. 400 Just to be clear, I didn't add this place and can certainly think of better options in town, however we visited here as Mum and Keith were stopping at this hotel. We visited Saturday 17th August 2019. I would describe this as being at the bottom end of town, though it's only a few minutes walk from here to the centre and to the cable car stations.
This appears to be one of the biggest hotels in town, its quite traditional in appearance and even seems a little grand in style. The interior is nice, though we only really saw mums room, reception area, dining room etc. The weather was good so we sat outside. I do not recall there being much of a choice for beer, I had a Helles and Loz a wheat, I think that they were from one of the big Austrian breweries Zillertal? is it? All in all a pleasant enough place but nothing out of the ordinary. |
70 /100 Hotel & Gasthof Perauer (Restaurant) AHORNSTRASSE 854 We visited here with Mum and Keith, Saturday 17th and again Sunday 18th August 2019. I would describe this as being at the top end of town, very close to the cable car (the huge gondola one) Mayrhofen is quite small so it is easy to find.
The food is very good here, we ate here twice and I would heartily recommend the cheese and meat platter at lunchtime, it was excellent. Beer choice wasn't amazing however they did have a good range of Tuxertal Brauerei beers which I hadn't seen anywhere else. Inside it is wood, wood and more wood, I suspect it would be really cosy in the winter. I liked this place, it was nice to sit out on the terrace and to take in the views, but equally would be great sitting inside in the winter with snowy views. |
