70 /100 QUAYSIDE FURNITURE, 19 HIGH ST
“Moved to 19 High St, the sign on the outside says Quayside Furniture, but trust me it's still a nice beer destination. Carried some local breweries and some interesting imports. The owner's son tries to get beers in that have over 95% scores on RB. Really interesting place, they also have selection of gin.“

“Midway between the Menai Suspension Bridge and the town of Beaumaris, it's below the main road right down by the Menai Strait directly opposite Bangor Pier that juts out from the mainland. The pub faces the Strait and commands some lovely views up the coast. There's a car park by the road, which also has some parking places too, and you have to walk down various steps through the different garden levels of the pub to get to it. Once there the central doorway leads into a well furnished Robinsons pub with tables for mainly dining on the left, and the pub and bar are on the far right hand side of the ground floor. It's mainly a food pub, but there are three cask ales from the brewer available, two regulars and their latest special (a Trooper variation) was available. There is a road that leads down to the pub but parking here is limited.“

48 /100 THE BRIDGE INN TELFORD RD
“On the roundabout just over Telford’s beautiful Menai Suspension Bridge, unfortunately the pub doesn’t really command any views of it unless you are sat outside, and even then it could be better. The same could be said about the beer selection which is typically Marstons, with four ales all from different breweries in its portfolio, but all ’regulars’ on my visit. It has quite a small drinking area facing the front of the building, with the bar immediately greeting you after you enter through the central doorway. Traditional in style, it has a dining area at its rear which is arguably the nicest area of the establishment. There is an elevated garden area it is side.“

“On the roundabout across the north side of the Menai Suspension Bridge, this large building in its own grounds is very family friendly. It’s a JW Lees pub and a great place to find this Manchester brewers ales if you are on Wales’ biggest island or close by. Their conversion is plush and the main bar area that faces the road out front is of a considerable size, with other rooms adding to the capacity that are suitable for functions or events, and you can stay here too as the upper level is a hotel. The car park is large and the outdoor area to the side faces the Menai Strait and is a beautiful place to spend some time. The decor is traditional pub furniture with a healthy plushness to its appearance. It’s not the cheapest place in the area though. Lots of people come here to eat it seems.“

“The is a small shop unit with its back to the Menai Strait, facing the road in the quaint town that lends its name to the waterway. This was once just a bottle shop, but as tourists demanded more from it they have branched out into furniture and other gifts. The bottles are still here though, although probably not as aplenty as before given its just a few metres squared in size. German and Belgian ales were available, however they also have a couple of their own house brews for sale too, which are no longer brewed by the owners but contracted out to a brewer on the mainland. “

64 /100 ST. GEORGES ROAD
“Close to the Quayside Buttery at the end of a row of houses that finishes just before the banks of the Menai Strait. It looks small from the outside, but is deceptively large once inside, with a plush, modern appearance, but still in the traditional pub form. The service area is in front of you as you enter along the side wall. Opposite here are a couple of open plan rooms to drink in, as well as an area beyond the bar. Also at the rear is an attractive patio area that’s walled from the outside world. There’s four hand pumps here and local microbreweries feature. “

“Excellent new beer shop run by a very helpful and knowledgeable chap who is always happy to discuss and recommend beers. Stocks quite uncommon beers, both British and imported, including a particularly good Belgian selection. A smaller selection of excellent ciders is also available.“

“Friendly and knowledgeable guy behind the till whos enthusiasm is infectious regarding the numerous beers and ales available. I am always willing to buy the odd bottle solely on his reccomendation but have been unlucky with sourcing the Otley Portrer as it seems to disappear as soon as it arrives!“
