“Visited August or September, 2018. We just stopped in for beer, so didn’t try the food or crash in the hotel. Cool little place in a neat little town and our bartender was very nice but clearly not knowledgeable on beer. Main takeaway is the beer is pretty terrible. I’ll stop by for WI ticks on my way through town, but it’s definitely not a destination.“

“UPDATE - 2 more visits, in 2008 and August 2016. The food has improved - or I just made better choices; salmon on a dinnertime visit 8 years ago was excellent, and a pesto chicken sandwich with a corn soufflé for lunch this past weekend also fine. I’d say the beer has stayed roughly the same - a Dark Mild has been the only thing particularly memorable, but nothing has been poor either - and I should note that there were only 4 taps on this latest visit. Service is good unless it’s really busy. Overall worthwhile if combined with other beer stops or touristy stops (there’s a fine used bookstore next door for example), but certainly not worth going out of your way for solely for the beer on offer.

(2005) Visited with my mom during fall color season. Really cool little old room in a little old inn (1850s I think) with thick limestone walls and a very comfortable, pubby interior. Food was hit-or-miss, mom’s pesto pasta was terrific and my eggplant linguine not so great; good bread and a decent herring appetizer. Three beers on tap, all of which were good though none came close to great. Very pleasant service, and this is a cool little town if you’re into antiques or books.“

“While not really a great beer destination, the food and atmosphere are awesome. Fresh, local ingredients. Fixed up old building. Really a unique stop. The beers are hit and miss, mostly miss. Id stick with safe offerings..Porter, Wheat..the others are quite full of diacetyl. Ill go back, but not for the beer.“

“Stopped here this fall, nice ambience. Service was a little off though, had to wait for the server at the bar. Frankly I think I could have poured my own beer, drank it, and left the fiver on the bar and the server would have never known. I suppose it doesn’t help that it was a Thursday afternoon with nobody there. Great place to visit if you are in the tour of southwestern Wisconsin. Check out the rest of town as it still maintains the small town USA main street feel.“

“Had lunch here on a quiet Sunday afternoon. Decent beer and better food - the bacon cheeseburger was pretty good. Had an interesting sweet corn souffle on the side. Stop in if you’re in on 151!“

“Brew pub/country inn located in Mineral Point. Despite driving through this town about 1,000 times on the way to and from Madison, I had no idea how cool it was until I came to check out the brew pub. The inn is a historic three story building made of limestone. The restaurant/brew pub is located on the ground floor. Hard not to give this one a 5 for ambiance. Lots of soul. Reminded me of some of the small inns in the English Lake District. Very cool. A bike trail runs past it. They had 4 of their own beers on tap the day I visited, all of which were decent for such a small operation. The food was also good. Defintiely a place to check out.“

“THe Brewery Creek in is nestled in little Mineral Point, WI. Mineral Point is my wife and my’s favorite town in WI. We live one city over twards Madison. The Brewery Creek in has the best food, not the best selection on the menu however but also a small selection of tasty homebrews too!“

“My wife and I spent our honeymoon at their bed & breakfast which is just upstairs from area depicted above. We had lunch and dinner, and I sampled 4 of their beers. Its a nice place in a city with some rich history and an old world flair. The beer is nothing spectacular (I sampled a few of their products again at Great Taste last weekend), but I like the idea of having a brewery linked with both a restaurant and an inn. I’ve heard Oregon and Colorado do a fair amount of this, but the concept doesn’t seem to have caught on yet in the Midwest.“

“A cool place in an old building in Wisconsin’s oldest town. Great place to hang after touring the old town. Beers were well crafted, just a small operation so few beers were available. Food was very good - just a limited menu. The place is also an inn that appears very nice. Outside in summer is a very well used SUV (they claim it’s multi use bike trail - don’t believe it) trail. Makes it kinda noisy and redneck...but only at times.“
