58 /100 506 N. 2ND STREET I'd wanted to visit for a while because of the cool back story and their (what I think is) a legit P-51 cowling above the bar (awesome!). In a nicely redone old storefront (I think) on the rim of downtown Monroe, this is a neat space. Brick. History. I sample 4 beers, they ranged from OK to very good. They had 8-10 on offer, I didn't count. I don't think they offer food, so no comment there. Some retro video games, good seating, I liked the vibe. The first bartender that served me was aloof, seemed bothered to help me, and incorrectly identified one of the beers I got in my flight as a pilsner instead of a kolsch. The other bartender who checked me out was much more on his game and friendly. If you find yourself in the area, it's worth checking out. Brewery #876. |
78 /100 The Pickle Barrel (Restaurant) 1827 AVENUE OF AMERICA This is a fairly nice restaurant, and one of the few places in Monroe with a large selection of on tap beers. |
