“We visited here Saturday 31st July 2021, this was stop number three of a 35km loop cycle ride that had already taken in Michael Plank Brewery (stop number 1) 6-7km up the river at Laaber, and Bräu Goss at Deuerling (stop number 2) which was only about 3km alway. After here we would go to Prosselbrau at Adlersberg. The town of Eichohofen is only about 20km from Regensburg and you can get here in about 40-50mins via a 27 or 28 bus including a 10minute walk according to google maps, however as recommended previously at the first two stop reviews I would strongly suggest cycling, it is a lovely area with lots of well-marked cycle routes. The brewery and Gasthof, is probably the most impressive of the four today, it dominates this stretch of road with an arch across the road, you can see some shining copper vessels visible behind a glass fronted section. There is outside seating and whilst we never visited it there is seating in the garden which we were unable to see or use today owing to a wedding. Inside it is quite a decent size with plenty of seating, it is a restaurant and they also have rooms for accomodation, put simply it is very nice. We actually visited here last year just before the second lockdown to pick up a few bottles, we had been stopping in Kelheim which isn't far away. Because of the aforementioned wedding and also because this is a popular stop off for cyclists and hikers etc. they had created some temporary seating in an area across the road, utilising pallets but with comfortable large cushions. An outside catering beer and refreshments place had been set up looking not unlike an Ice Cream seller. Most of the core beers were available but apparently bottle only because of the lack of facilities. It was reasonably popular today. We had the Eichofener Hopfengarten which was quite good but thus far out of the three beers tried, it was by some distance relegated into the third best of the day position and inexplicably packaged in a clear glass bottle, what are you thinking Eichohofen? “

“Fantastic beergarten with 4 solid beers. Good place to go. Reserving your place beforehand in beergarten is a good idea.“

“Wow what a find. An old castle converted for the most part into a brewery. A wonderful setting. The brewpub is very modern and clean. Service was very good despite being so busy. Food was top local fare. Recommend spend some time hiking around the old place for some great pictures.“
