66 /100 1280 OVIEDO MALL DR Its a nice place. Good atmosphere, patio was nice on a cool late November Florida night. Convenient location at the mall, I like the idea of having a beer while the wife shops, that sort of thing. Interesting selection of craft sodas too. Had minimal food, but the soft pretzels with beer cheese were pretty decent. I haven't said much about the beer, well its pretty forgettable. Hopefully there will be something better on the horizon. I'll go back, but how many times I wonder? |
80 /100 Rock & Brews (Oviedo) (Restaurant) 7131 RED BUG LAKE RD Not bad, actually the best draft beer selection in Oviedo - which isn’t saying much, but its a good selection anyway. And served at the right temp in the right glassware, so that impressed me the most! Good service. Food is OK. Appreciate the rock theme but it could be better. |
18 /100 Publix - Oviedo (University Palms) (Grocery Store) 4250 ALAFAYA TRAIL #148 Publix locations vary in their selection. Most have a mix and match 6 pack plus a varied selection of whole sixers and bombers. Most craft inventory moves slowly, does not get rotated. This particular location has one of the weaker selections, has few craft options. Skip and head to Pats in the same shopping plaza. |
84 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Oviedo (Restaurant) 8285 RED BUG LAKE ROAD Same as the resto of the places. NIce athmosphere a little too poshy but nice and good to visit. |
34 /100 Pat’s Liquor Leaf and Wine - University Palms (Beer Store) 4250 ALAFAYA TRAIL, STE 220 Update for 2023: They are going downhill. Not only are there tons of old dusty bottles on the shelves, but some have been sitting there for so long they are suck to the shelves. Literally stuck, I couldn't pick them and was afraid to pull too hard for fear of pulling the shelf down! Also the craft beer is getting crowded out for all the cheap booze they sell to college student. 2015: Realized I have never updated this, not in 7 years. Pats remains a store that continually amazes me and frustrates me. I remember back in 2008 they had 7 year old bottles of Bert Grant’s IPA on the shelf, rotten but still for sale - alongside hard to find Fantome. They have made a big effort in the last year or so to increase the total amount of space dedicated to beer and have tripled their selection, and I had been tempted to rate them higher, but it turns out, you still need to be careful and look at dates. Bought a sizer of Uinta Hop Nosh without even thinking I should look at the date, and well, now I have a bunch of stale old flabby beer I don’t want to drink. I guess this place is fine if you’re buying bigger beers that can stand to age, or you use their draft and growler fill system which is very cool even if the selection is nothing to get over-excited about (and slightly over-priced, as is pretty much all their beers). Generally speaking I can do almost as good at the ABC down the road and spend less. |
66 /100 ABC Fine Wine & Spirits - Oviedo (Beer Store) 901 OVIEDO MARKETPLACE BOULEVARD Quite an interesting selection of locals and micros from around the country, selection of big bottles and small, sixers and mix and match. |
76 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Oviedo (Restaurant) 8285 RED BUG LAKE ROAD Made it in on a Saturday night - not a bad wait, about 15 minutes max (even though they said it would be 25-30). Place has been packed since opening but its leveling off. Beers were decent, food pretty good, service friendly. Would go back. |
38 /100 Pat’s Liquor Leaf and Wine - University Palms (Beer Store) 4250 ALAFAYA TRAIL, STE 220 I try to buy local, so I went here. I was pleasantly surprised by the huge selection. However, they do not take care of the stock. Bought one six pack that was heavily oxidized. When i went back I found several beers that were on the shelf WAY past their sell by date. I brought it to the attention of the staff they shrugged it off. The offered me a deal on a case of New Belgium Tripel. I bought it only to get it home to find that the case expired on the same day. (Should have known.) These guys don’t do enough business to keep all these beers on the shelf and they are not rotating their stock as the should. Beware. |
80 /100 Publix - Oviedo (University Palms) (Grocery Store) 4250 ALAFAYA TRAIL #148 NIC eplace, not a big selection as other places but you can create your own six pack. NIce food and good prices. Just some meters from UCF but under the sun would be the walk. NOt much buses there. |
86 /100 Pat’s Liquor Leaf and Wine - University Palms (Beer Store) 4250 ALAFAYA TRAIL, STE 220 NIce place to rest in bottle capital. Hundreds of different beers and nice prices. Seasonals, trappists and reasonable prices. |
74 /100 Cavallari Gourmet (Beer Store) 1954 W SR 426 Good takeout Italian food |
84 /100 Cavallari Gourmet (Beer Store) 1954 W SR 426 This is a nice hidden gem in the relatively small oviedo community, with a heavy focus on the independent grocery aspect, that delivers, particularly in a mind blowing deli and butcher department. As a nice side option, they’ve got a big fridge of craft brew singles, and are one of the only places I’ve found rarer bottles that eluded me in even my most niche haunts (maybe they just don’t sell them as fast). In fact, I kind of regret writing this, because I don’t want anyone to beat me to the next find. |
72 /100 Cavallari Gourmet (Beer Store) 1954 W SR 426 I found this place by chance while living in the area. I was surprised to see they sold craft beers and that the selection was not at all bad. Beers are sold in single bottles as well as 6 and 12 packs. They offered a discount if you buy 6 single bottles.
They also sell subs, which are very good, some produce and lots of meats. Great little market. |
74 /100 Cavallari Gourmet (Beer Store) 1954 W SR 426 I didn’t know this little gem was sitting right in my back yard! This could be the 3rd best store I’ve found in Orlando. Nothing rare, but a really good selection of some seriously top notch beers. Singles. Not to mention the rest of this store: deli, butcher case with USDA prime beef, wines, other gourmet foods, all just really a great place to buy everything that satisfies someone who loves good food and drink. I didn’t get the impression there was alot of beer knowledge in the store, but if you already know good beer, you’ll be able to navigate yourself. |
68 /100 Cavallari Gourmet (Beer Store) 1954 W SR 426 Nice selection of singles in the coolers. Cavallari’s sells six packs, a few bombers and plenty of singles.
The food is incredible. They have many items that are very difficult to find in the Orlando area. I patronize Cavallari’s more for the food than the beer. The beer is a bit expensive, but you do get a 10% discount off of the single price if you buy six singles.
You’re on your own when you’re in the beer section. The service in the rest of the store is quite good.

64 /100 Pat’s Liquor Leaf and Wine - University Palms (Beer Store) 4250 ALAFAYA TRAIL, STE 220 Nice selection of beers. Plenty of beer on the shelves and plenty in the coolers, too. Pat’s recently opened up some more space and devoted it to beer. They have plenty of singles on the shelves and don’t mind if you break a six pack to purchase a single.
They stock several bombers and have a nice mix of import and domestic brews. Pat’s is located down the street from the University of Central Florida, and most of the patrons appear to be students. They do a nice keg business.
One thing you have to look out for is the age of the beer. If you’re looking at singles, always see if there is a "born on" date, or "best drank by" date.
Overall it’s a decent place for picking up craft brews at a reasonable price. |
72 /100 Cavallari Gourmet (Beer Store) 1954 W SR 426 Neat little market. Solid beer selection to go along with specialty foods and wines. They’ve got a nice selection of singles in the cooler, which I almost missed. Probably somewhere around 100 bottles or so. Some of the higher rated brews are represented here too, such as St. Bernardus Abt 12 and Dogfish 90, 120 and WWS. Friendly staff. |
52 /100 Pat’s Liquor Leaf and Wine - University Palms (Beer Store) 4250 ALAFAYA TRAIL, STE 220 I admit my expecations were a little low but this place isn’t bad at all. Selection was pretty good with some of the usuals and quite a few I was surprised to see. Prices seemed pretty good on bigger bottles and too high on singles (12 oz) and six packs. But they do offer a single 12 oz price on most of their stock. Problem is it’s not as good as Big C Liquors and there are similar places on the same road, right by UCF, such as Shamrock Beverage & Liquors. Anyways, if you’re in the area you’ll find something good but be sure to check out Big C too. |
74 /100 Cavallari Gourmet (Beer Store) 1954 W SR 426 A Nice little market with an above average beer selection. Beer is cheap too. About 100 beers from around the world. Was surprisingly a nice find. |
84 /100 Cavallari Gourmet (Beer Store) 1954 W SR 426 A great find. At first glance you would not expect a great beer selection but I was delightfully suprised to find probably close to 100 beers on hand. Decent selection. |
70 /100 Cavallari Gourmet (Beer Store) 1954 W SR 426 A fantastic little market with a much better than average beer selection and some nice wines as well. You have to see this place! It must be East Orlando’s best-kept secret! |
