78 /100 Sawmill Grill (Restaurant) 306 MARKET ST. not sure how long this place has been open. Heard about it a few months ago and finally got to stop in last saturday night. Very busy, 15 minute wait. Place is small though decor is cool with woodworking tools and fireman type stuff on the walls. Small bar may seat 15 to 20?? Waitress was cute and attentive. Food is mostly pub type grub but they do offer entrees which are homestyle meals. Beer selection was fair with 4 to 6 drafts being mostly BMC stuffs with a bottle selection of 30 or so. Better selection in bottles. Pint prices were about $4 bottles/cans close to the same. TV,s were loud as was the folks at the bar watching bassetball er something. ambience was just locals havin a good time, drinkin beers and enjoying each others company. Pissery was clean except for the dolts who bathe at the sink i guess, water was all over the place. Not the fault of the establishment though. Worth a stop if yer passing by not to mention you may cross the street, go down the alley and stop in Bog Turtle Brewery for a sample of whatever they have, talk to the cool owner types and get yerself a growler! |
76 /100 562 LINCOLN STREET Surprised to see the Mutt in the data base. Been goin here for a few years now. Never thought to add it. Down home, laid back bar. Beer food for sure! Decent beer drinkin grub, large portions, good service and a fair selection of micro brews. Pissery leaves little to be desired but still works. Classic rock at an enjoyable level. Critters runnin around the bar. Worth a stop if yer close by. |
70 /100 562 LINCOLN STREET This place was conveniently located for my return trip from the Philly area to DC. Easy street and lot parking. Front room has a large square bar, back room has restaurant tables. Tap list is displayed electronically and included some local and some national craft beers plus some macros. Service was quick and friendly. The one app I had was tasty and filling. Don’t go out of your way, but it’s worth a quick stop if you’re passing while hungry or thirsty. |
82 /100 562 LINCOLN STREET Stopped in for a BCBS tapping and found a nice tap list. This is a bar with a nice neighborhood feel...beers are mostly nice crafts on tap and macro bottles with a couple macro taps splashed in. Food is good pub grub...I had a good burger...menu has a wide range of sandwiches, apps, and a few salads. Service is really good...super friendly and attentive. Draft prices are really good! Seems like a local bar stepping up their craft beer offerings. Worth a visit if you’re in the area! |
