56 /100 Lord Nelson (Holts) (Bar) 653 BOLTON ROAD In its own modern brick built mid-20th century building on the main road through Pendleton and its unexciting shops, this is just up the road from another Holts pub that from the outside looks more traditional and inviting that this one - however once inside it’s a convivial spot. Good for watching live football with a Holts ale in your hand, there’s a large concrete car park surrounding the pub on two sides and it’s not too far off the M60 motorway. It’s a familiar two sided pub for this chain with the best room slightly larger than the bar side which includes a pool table and darts board, both are kept well and both are served by the central service area. The ales are the same on both sides but there’s a full selection of Holts ales here on draught, cask and a full bottle selection from the brewer so it’s a good enough place to get some ticks if you’re not familiar with this historic brewery. |
