“Visited late October 2018... the day after a very late wedding with lots of drinking. We didn't try any food while here, but the menu looked good and it seems to have good reviews online. Neat place, kind of a cross between rustic and new age, very clean and nice. Very friendly bartender who was able to ask cursory questions I had about the beers. As an out of towner, I thought they had a great selection. I could have gotten 2 or 3 flights of stuff I hadn't had, but since I was driving, I did not, hah. We will probably head back if we pass through town again!“

“Usually they have a good selection on tap/bottles. I love going here in the summer for the music, outdoor tables, and they usually have several out door games. Can get very busy and service is slow at times. Great place to drink, but the food was mediocre.“

“The food is amazing... when you finally get it. I have been several times and the service is always slow. They have a great atmosphere for the summer time. The beer selection isn't anything special, but they are always cold! I will not go out of my way to drink here.“

“Came here for dinner after beercade. Large chill place. Pretty busy for a Thursday and I would imagine it would get busy on weekends. 26 beers on tap plus a bunch of bottles. Overall the list is decent. Menu is typical Irish place stuff. I am interested if the fish and chips are traditional or the trash u may find at a Applebee’s or something. But I am too lazy to wait but will be reflected in score. Would I return? Perhaps.“

“This is a review of the new location. Decent sized place. 10 beers on tap of al varieties. I had a imperial IPA that meh and an IPA that was pretty decent at least . The server was friendly and prices were inline.“

“came here for dinner after having a couple of beers are peoria brewing. in a strip mall it is a moderatle sized place, decent bar, table seating. menu is english food. I had the fish and chips and it is legit with a huge peice of cod. beer list was large and overall solid. decent place.“

“Visited September 2015 at their new location. This is a nice place and the staff was friendly. The beer is garbage. They just moved locations (the bartender told me) and the new place is nice, clean, etc. He seemed a little irked that we ordered samplers, but oh well. Between the four of us we had all 11 beers they had on tap and 9 were drain pours, two were meh. Nothing good. Lots of diacetyl and other such flaws. Yuck. A flight of four beers is $12 to boot. Yikes.“

“Large selection of beer in sixers, singles, etc. all the big brands plus loads of local and small breweries. I grabbed a couple offerings that I couldn’t find in Ohio. They have a decent home brew section and loads of wine and liquor. A real nice option in the area.“

“I am from St. Louis, and while our friar tuck is a lot bigger, I was amazed at all the beer you can find at this location that we don't have back home. Ballast point, dogfish head, alesmith, smuttynose, we don't have any of these in stl. Prices were a few bucks cheaper (negated by the higher sales tax in IL), staff was friendly but not pushy. I visit Peoria semi-regularly, I will be hitting this place up every time.“

“Cozy little place in a strip mall. Nice 5 or 6 craft rotating handles....which had an excellent Enjoy By Stone IPA when I went. Fish and chips were decent. Live music was a buzz kill after 8PM. Cool place and will be back!“

“I had zero expectations and they were exceeded. 20ish taps with great stuff on including Paradisi and Cherry Rye BCS on a random Wednesday afternoon. Service was good. Prices were great, $5.50 for a draft. I’d come here to drink and not eat. Generic frozen pub food that you can skip.“

“Much bigger selection than I expected in Peoria. They had Alesmith and Schlafly which I can’t get in Chicago so that was a plus. Prices were not cheaper as I expected. Ok if you’re staying in the area, but nothing to go out of your way for.“

“Cute little place tucked away in a strip mall. Decent beer selection with 11 taps - 6 standard British beers plus rotating 5 taps of good micros. About 20 or so good bottles too, including some Stones, Hebrew, Founders. Not a huge food menu - some British basics plus brisket, burgers and sandwiches. Brisket sandwich I am having is very good. Bartender is very nice and good service. Definitely better than it looks from the outside.“

“Store layout is a straightforward liquor store. A lot of the bottles were in the coolers, kind of the opposite of Friar Tuck. Decent selection, not as big as Friar Tuck but pretty decent.“

“Typical Friar Tuck, if you have been to one before. Very big store, with lots of wine, liquor, and beer. Beer selection is very good - imports, American craft, lots of relatively local Chicago and Wisconsin beers. Fari build your own 6-pack section. Prices aren’t the best, but definitely seems to be the bext selection in the area.“

“Kind of an weird/interesting place - like a ghetto version of Sam’s Club/Costco. Didn’t walk around the rest of "the club" but they did seem to have a pretty big alcohol section, beer, wine, and spirits. Beer selection was OK, slightly above average I guess. They did have a small build your own 6 pack section. Prices seemed pretty fair. Not bad if you are in the area, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it.“

“Nice little local place. About 10 taps, plus maybe 50 or so bottles - mostly German, but also some internationls and some American micros. Food was pretty good, and lets face it, German cuisine isn’t the easiest to lable as "good".“

“There was quite a bit of selection as far as liquor stores go. The mix and match was extensive as well as a ton of bombers. Most of the craft beer was was kept warm, good for people who are traveling through. Very good store, will be back sometime.“

“Old Chicago is great for moments where you want beer, but you don’t need food. The waitstaff is far less friendly if you don’t order food though. They don’t really know their beers. Go here when you know what you really want to drink. The mini-tours are great fun! As are the regular 110. Be forewarned though, the imports are mainly macrobrewed.“

“Nicely re-purposed old warehouse across from the river. Raucous pub atmosphere, long bar, beautiful back bar. Good number of tables for dining and visiting. Outside seating in season. 20+ taps of well-selected beers; should be something there for every taste. Food is good, try the Guinness Beef Bites for an appetizer. Staff is knowledgeable and attentive. Has the added bonus of being next door to a small brewpub (John S. Rhodell’s) that also has facilities for home brewers to work on their craft. Live music on the weekends. Fun place!“

I love the make your own 6 pack selection and the insane amount of craft options on the back wall. They sell some home brewing equipment as well. Best beer-centric store in the Peoria area.“

“Good Irish pub, with 20 beers on tap plus about another 20 bottles. They also just started carrying their own collaboration brew, with Flosmoor in Chicago. Its a brown ale, and not bad. Food is pretty good, good selection of Irish fare. Prices are very reasonable too.“

“Large beer, wine and liquor store. Some cheese etc. available too. Excellent selection for all spirits. If they son’t have it, they will call the distributor and try to get it for you. Pricing is about average, but with a large number of brews to choose from it doesn’t bother me. Friar Tuck also offers a lot of single beers too. Big cooler for ready to go beer. Not much bad to say about this store. I try to stop every time I go through Peoria.“

“Super Liquor is a little more of a "hidden gem" in Peoria than Friar Tuck. It’s in the sketchy part of town. Well, let’s be honest - it’s in one of them any sketchy parts of Peoria. The selection is no where near the size of it’s Peoria big brother, the ’Tuck, but they have a very respectable cooler section. They also have a pretty good selection of branded glassware. It seems that there’s only one or two people on staff that really know beer, but those that do are both very helpful and very willing to sit and talk beer for awhile. One or the other has always been working when I’ve been through. The rest of the staff is ... well, they’re helpful, in their own right. Don’t get lost after dark while leaving, though.“

“Whenever I’m near Peoria, I stop at Friar Tuck. By now, anyone I’m with already knows that we’ll be spending a half hour there. The selection is great for that part of Illinois, and there’s always a hidden gem somewhere. Never be afraid to look in the back of shelves, as I’ve often found some older beers hidden. It’s not always a good thing, but it can be a great way to find a hidden gem. I’ve not found the staff to be overly knowledgeable(although they are more than willing to try and help), but then I’m usually there in the "off" hours. I’ve found that calling is a better way to find someone that knows their beer. Usually there is some 3 Fonteinen stuff on the shelves, and, occasionally, Cantillon for you sour-followers.“

“Tap selection was down the night we were their. Waitress said they were having a problem of some sort. Just had a couple of Bass and wife had a 312 draft. Food was absolutely fantastic. The Shepards pie was great. Wife had a leak soup she said was wonderful. Live about 120 miles southeast of Peoria, but are there for softball tournaments 2 or 3 times a year, and this will be one of our stops.“

“After having recently been to both the Peoria and Springfield locations, I can say without a doubt that the Peoria location, although it seems smaller, has a much larger beer selection. Still has a mix-a-six wall, but I find the Peoria location has more singles available.“

A good amount of beer featuring a lot of different breweries but not a ton of beers from each brewery. Not to sure how well they handle and store their beer but Im sure it isn’t any worse than some places.“

“Nice selection of many different micros and so on. A lot of liquor and a ton of wine. The beer was definitely dusty here and there. Be careful...might find something a bit oxidized. They don’ carry three floyds any more, nor does anyone else in Peoria because of distribution shenanigans. Nice, kinda divey place. Not as good as friar tucks....but they have deals that tucks doesn’t at the same time.“

“Whenever I’m stuck in central Illinois, I take solace in knowing the Friar Tuck’s will be stocked up with craft beer. They have everything from rare Lost Abbey releases to retired Eurpean colloboration beers -- not to mention all of the great midwest bottles. The staff never seems to know what’s going on when I’m in, but the prices and selection are cetainly right.“

“This store is pretty amazing being that it is located in central Illinois, or southern Illinois if you are from the Chicagoland area/suburbs. The store has an awesome selection of wine, spirits, and beer. I know for a fact that if the distributors in town have it, Friar Tuck will have the product on their shelf. Some of the other folks who have commented on the store said that only the manager and asst. mananger are knowledgable in beer; I disagree. Most of the staff knows a thing or two about beer; however, now that I think about it those comments were from a few years ago. Last time I stopped in the staff was friendly and very helpful. Oh, and the selection of cheeses are awesome. It is a liquor store, not a grocery store, so the food that they do have is good. If you are ever in need of a lot of alcohol, especially beer, the Friar is the place to go. They have really good prices.“

“I’m pretty new to the beer world, but from what I’ve run across Friar Tuck seems to be the best place to buy micro brews in the area. Their selection is huge and they have a great international selection but it’s predominantly domestics here. As a new comer I was somewhat overwhelmed with their selection and my only gripe is that there was no one around to get advice or suggestions from. As far as price goes they are very reasonable, but I do wish they would bump there mix-a-six price down from $9.99. In my opinion overall a great place for the beer lover.“

“Small, divey German restaurant/bar. Decent homestyle German food and a fun lively atmosphere. Decent selection of German beers with some micros tossed in. A fun place to visit and a good stop in Peoria, but nothing amazing. Service as friendly and accomadating.“
