72 /100 100 W. MAIN ST. Local micro-brews on tap. Good selection of craft beers as well. |
20 /100 100 W. MAIN ST. My closest brewpub, and I gave it 3 tries, even ate once. It is just not worth going back to. No definition in flavor between styles. My .02 would be to go back to basics and then expand without going and experimenting too much. |
64 /100 100 W. MAIN ST. Stopped by here one evening while on vacation in the area. Not much going on here on a weeknight, but there were a few adults with kids around. Definitely an interesting vibe here. It’s a bakery during the day and a brewpub at night. The baked goods were all right. The beer was actually pretty good though. They had 6 of their beers on tap when I stopped by. Unfortunately no samplers were available, just pints. Annoying electro-pop music was way too loud. Otherwise a nice stop. |
58 /100 100 W. MAIN ST. Stopped in here a few weeks ago on a return to La Crosse from Madison. Nice drive 33. Place is right on the main drage and pretty easy to find. I was there mid- afternoon on a weekday and the only customer. The owner was there and a nice guy. My bartender was helpful, poured some small glasses of beer for me. I had a blackened bacon cheeseburger with fries and it was excellent although 1/3 pound was too much. My first beer was a cream ale and quite good, but the others weren’t so hot. Seems like maybe the malt bill is being scrimped on. Brewing system is 2 bbl. Prices were very reasonalble. Atmosphere is a combo sports bar, brew pub, corner cafe. Had six of their own beers, 4 guests and one root beer on draft. Some guest bottles too. Owner/brewmaster said he was working on an applebeer but didn’t have right yet. I might return someday if I’m in the neighborhood and want a cream ale. |
48 /100 100 W. MAIN ST. This isn’t too far away from the Dells, but unless you’re planning on being in the area, I wouldn’t recommend trekking to find this one. The food smelled good and the place was definitely a semi-rural sports bar, but the beer just plain sucked. |
64 /100 100 W. MAIN ST. Obscure location in a small, quiet town. They don’t have a "sampler", per se, but they serve their beer in 8-oz. lager glasses for $1.50 a piece, so that’s good enough for me. Small, homey pub atmosphere. Only one person working there when we went. We only got the beer but the food that was cooking on the griddle next to the taps looked and smelled delicious. Most of the beer was sub par with a few anomalies that were enjoyable. I’d recommend not going out of the way for this one, only if you’re in the direct vicinity. |
64 /100 100 W. MAIN ST. A good place to go if you’re mired in the Dells. Admittedly I only had a sip of their IPA but I thought it was well done, I’m guessing the rest of their lineup is equally good. The staff was fun to hang out with. They do have food but I didn’t have any. |
