“East of Bridlington in Sewerby where the beach has turned into cliffs, you can get here via the promenade tourist train in certain months as it terminates by the cricket club a couple of hundred yards away. The pub is traditional enough, nothing spectacular but it clearly gets quite a few tourists here, (some manufactured by themselves as they have a field for touring caravans beyond their own flagged terrace garden and children's play area) as there's a dining room and a shack of seaside arcade gambling machines. This is a Marstons pub so the half dozen cask range is all from their own family of beers, and all regular brews, and given some of the pump clips are in metal I'd suggest they very rarely get removed so don't change too often. Food here is filling rather than gourmet, but the pizza ovens directly behind the pub offer up something extra to the standard menu - I believe these are on weekends or summer months only.“

“Large, with a rather grand frontage, pub close to the much grander Sewerby Hall and Cricket pitches. A handy place to drop in after a bracing walk along the cliff tops. It has to be said, it feels somewhat run down, inside and out, not sure whether this is intentional or not, but with their intention to put on more up market food I would suggest the latter. The two giant Alsations on the roof really don’t help improve the feel, particularly when they bark at every moving thing. Not the best ambiance builder, the covered staging area was the best bet.“
