50 /100 Sunset Bar & Grill (Bar) # 2 BEACON HILL RD. This place is touristy as hell but pretty amusing - with huge crowds of Americans drunk on Bud Light (a mean feat for sure) cheering on landing planes. Service was quick despite it having that vast and crowded USA bar atmosphere, prices were terrible as you might expect. I had a rum cocktail but aside from the major global macros on offer they should also be offering one or two of the local brews, if you can't make it further into the island to try them properly. |
52 /100 Sunset Bar & Grill (Bar) # 2 BEACON HILL RD. Stopped in on my honeymoon. This is the spot to watch the planes come in. Not the best prices and all the beers were imported junk. But hey why not. |
80 /100 Bavaria Bar & Restaurant (Bar) WELFARE RD. #103 A nice little German style bar & restaurant on the main strip in Simpson Bay. With out a doubt the best beer election in the leeward islands. 10 German bottled beers plus 2 rotating German taps. Proper glass wear, friendly staff. It’s as good as it gets in the islands…. |
40 /100 Sunset Bar & Grill (Bar) # 2 BEACON HILL RD. I’ve been coming to St. Maarten for over 10 years now, and this used to be the place to be an hour or two before sundown. Unfortunately after being on national shows it’s now a tourist trap. Average bar food with an amazing view.Speaking of views, back in the day women used to drink for free if they were topless. I degrees. Now it’s a just a sad conglomerate of the lowest common denominator of budget tourist. The beer line up has eroded to the standard Mexican imports, mainstream U.S. pilsners and the national beer of the Dutch side of the island, Heineken. |
