“Very traditional Victorian era styled pub and mainstay of Brewer Street. Visited a number of times when I lived in London and worked quite close. Sam Smith's selection.“

“Located right in the middle of central London, next to the Oxford Circus tube, often crowded both inside and outside. Its a well kept, old fashion pub with magnificent architecture, especially the mirror wall at the rear. Okay Nicholson's beer selection on cask and tap. Finn and I came here in 2003 and the place was included in our anniversary trip '23 revisiting our best pubs in London from 2003-2006. (Visited with Finn, 28.09.2023).“

“Visited many times over the years, most recently a weekday afternoon in August 2023 - lovely old corner Victorian pub with very nice frontage in a great location in Soho, this place been consistently (in my visits) been serving great beers for many years now both across cask (always in top condition on my visits) and a good selection of craft taps as well. This place has also been using a well maintained UT verified menu for quite a while now so easy to check for new ticks in advance. Service has overall always been great on my visits and was so for the last visit where we picked up some new brewery ticks on cask (in great condition) and a few new ticks of well known London breweries like Kernel/Pressure Drop on keg. Overall a great destination, highly recommended.“

“Visited a few times over the years, last time a weekday morning in August 2023 - originally a old cinema way back this has now been a spoons for some time. Pretty big place that opens up as you enter with a large bar in the main centre and then another bar at the back. Went here for the world cup football on the last visit as remember they have big screens, was fairly busy for this 11am match. Service was pretty slow overall which I remembered from last visit many years back, and remember it being rammed in the later afternoon/evening back then so not much has changed if it's like this so early in the day. Not recommended.“

“Really small and busy Brewdog. Might be my imagination but the busier London Brewdogs don’t see to have very extensive guest offerings; just the normal Brewdogs. So it doesn’t matter which one you go to.“

“По выбору пива, абсолютно лучший Брюдог. Можно встретить даже топовые Американские медовухи, и пивасы за дикие 20 фунтов. Радует что на 2 этажах есть краны и места, хотя людей очень много, и просто так не сядешь. Идеально для биргика, но конечно цены кусаются.“

“Thursday is going out night for London workers so it was not surprising that by 18:00 this place was rammed. All tables and bar stools taken. I was there to see what was available in terms of the relaunched Brodies beers: two on cask and one on keg. Bought my halves and then hoped I'd find somewhere to perch. Managed to find some space to stand at the end of the bar. A few moments later the guy sat on a bar stool left so I was able to nab that. At which point w crowd of office colleagues decided to take over the space I was sat in so found myself with people stood either side of and behind me have paid covenstations about what Charlso and Dammo were planning to do with their new cavier dispensers or whatever. I think they were hoping I'd move so I sat there as long as possible on my two cask ratings. Otherwise it's yer standard well presented but not overly exciting central London pub, with a big standard beer range, other than the Brodies, and rushed staff. No need to return here.“

“Stopped there for lunch on my way to the British Museum, as i saw Wetherspoons had a Robbie Burn deal, 8.5 pounds for haggis and nips with a pint. I didnt realize this was one of the last locations of the Marquee Club from the 1980s to the 2000s. The place is huge, commercial and busy. Order your drinks and food at the bar, and make sure you know your table number. Barman were a bit cold. 4 decent casks and a few micros. Haggis was good.“

“The best of the three BrewDogs I visited today, as judged mostly by the nice specials and guest taplist. They had a barley wine from 2015 and other interesting Euro taps. It's the usual BrewDog decor, very comfortable and thoughtfully designed, although a little bit cookie cutter at this point. Friendly service, with 1/3 pints available of anything, and free tastes available. Definitely worth a visit when in Soho.“

Amathus (Soho) (Beer Store)
HAMMER HOUSE, 113-117 WARDOUR STREET
“I have a holiday in London, Amathus Soho is the nearest bottle shop. They sell beer, wine and liquor, less inventory of beer than anticipated. The selection is wide-spread, many countries represented including the US. I got a handful of various styles and breweries with perhaps the best being an imperial brown stout from The Kernel, no home runs. The lady behind the counter was courteous.“

Bun House (Restaurant)
26-27 LISLE ST
“Fleeting visit. For some reason I assumed that I could take the beers away so told my mates I'd catch up with them. Was then told I had to order food and could not just order beer - which is not what comments below suggest. So ordered a bun and then chugged down a decent impy stout. As I was in a hurry and the bun was really hot I just left it untouched and scarpered. I got a Hong Kong tick and if I was in less of a hurry I'd probably come back for more. As per other comments it's a small hot venue with no real attention payed to decor. I was the only person in there but plenty of people were taking buns away.“

Bun House (Restaurant)
26-27 LISLE ST
“Visited with the wife on 8th Aug 2019. Went purely for the Honk Kong beers, had two of the eight or so on offer, all £5:00 each. Didn't eat. Small place (didn't go upstairs) with four or five tables in a little room behind the counter. Card only, no cash. Very basic layout and very warm on our visit. If I fancy another Hong Kong rate I might return (have four now).“

“Came here to eat with wife and kids. Fish & chips were excellent and not that expensive considering the location. Camden Town Pale Ale on tap was really tasty and Hells lager quite ok. The beer list was bottles and cans, and not all were available at the time. Should have tried the cask ales, but didn't. Excellent, friendly service (especially for the kids). A good place to fill your stomach after visiting the Lego store :).“

Bun House (Restaurant)
26-27 LISLE ST
“On the row of restaurants directly behind the North side of Leicester Square in Chinatown, this small front facing eatery with an upstairs too has decent on the go food, but not really a restaurant, however it does combination specials on some imported far east bottles I'd never encountered before. The actual buns are sweet and the fillings hit and miss, but do fill you up.“

“A corner pub on one of the pedestrian approaches to Leicester Square on its eastern side, it has a few outdoor tables because of this. This is handy as the inside isn't that large, nor is it quite as nice as some of the other Victorian-esque pubs from the Nicholson's chain in the area. This pub serves pretty much the same selection of cask and keg ales as the others from this group do.“

“Great little restaurant / street food place in Chinatown focussing on Chinese steamed buns filled with all sorts of stuff, plus noodles, rice pots etc.. Modern, edgy Chinese decor. Of interest to RateBeerians due to their small but decent range of around ten Hong Kong beers which they import exclusively. I saw around 10 bottles from Young Master, Moonzen and one other at the ground floor takeaway level but couldn't go in due to having our dog with me. Got a takeaway meal deal - £8.80 for two steamed buns and a beer, which had to be the Moonzen radler only. Ready in seconds. Also open in the evenings as a kind of dive bar / street food place. Will hopefully call in again.“

“Corner pub just to the North of Piccadilly Circus, which is an open plan room packed with tables. The bar is towards the back. Has lots of windows and it's easy to see in, possibly to allow tourists to see what action is taking place inside as this is a place pretty much directed at them. Having worked just a few streets away for 6 years previously, I actually have never been in this pub before now, probably as the 'Lyric' is just a few doors away, but it did have one local brew available in its cask selection of three, which was the Wimbledon Brewery regular ale 'Common'.“

“Long time Wetherspoon pub with a large open interior once past the bar area, and a bit of a hike up to the toilets if I remember right. Frequented this place a fair bit in the early 2000's, but less so since. Can be used as a short-cut between Soho streets.“

“Nice traditional English pub. Cousy relaxed atmosphere. Friendly and helpful service. Cask beer in god condition and some ok bottles in the fridge.
Nice location at Cambridge Circus just across the theatre, and BrewDog on the other side of the square You can also eat upstairs with a nice view if you sit by the window“

“Another huge Spoon pub. You know what you get. Like it or not. I recommend that you walk another 5 min down towards Seven Dials or Cambridge. But if you are hungry and maybe want to look at a football match. Well ok they do have some ok beer in the fridge“

“Trendy watering hole for hipsters and beer hunters. Samples offered when asked for. Great music playing, but too loud for the industral acoustics. Large selection of Brewdog's own beers on taps + some guest beers. Cans and bottles to take away. Extra point for serving 1/3 pints.“

“Visited 29/8/2018. Busy when visiting this Wednesday evening, with a typically boisterous BrewDog crowd. Varied selection of taps from BD plus a few guests. Bottle/can selection less interesting than seen in some others. Was easy to get served despite being busy as plenty working behind the bar, friendly too. Shared a few flights that evening, and burgers we had were good. Good visit.“

“A bigger Brewdog location in the heart of Soho. Okay selection on tap of things I hadn't seen at the other ones, but tap selection was heavy on the IPAs. A bit more variety would be welcome. Otherwise very much what you'd expect from the Brewdog chains.“

“Small traditional English pub just off Shaftsbury Avenue. Good mix of cask & keg beers. USP for me is that as well as having good beer it has Sky Sports on hd tv. Friendly helpful service from a guy who lives close to me in Glasgow.“
