“A homely roadside brewpub with a cowpoke theme - lassoes and stirrups on the walls (but no cowboy hats as far as I could see) and some of the booths sporting upholstery depicting wild west explorers and bucking bronchos. There’s a separate eating area but we chose to eat in the bar from the special lunch menu which was supposed to be small portions but I forgot that this is America! There were ten taps, mainly with their own beer. (Visited 9 November 2012).“

“Visited on Monday 20/05/13 for lunch. Rectangular bar amidst a medium to sized room with adjoining dining room on split levels. Lots of cowboy shit adorns the walls, boots, saddles and the like. 16 taps of their own beers dispensing a good variety of styles, all drinkable enough but no world beaters. Service was prompt and friendly. The place was moderatley busy with about a dozen sat around the bar and anoter 20/25 folks, largely an older crowd, eating in the dining room. Food was fine but nothing too amazing. Good vfm tasting flights available, $7.99 for 6x4oz or any given 4oz taster for $1.99. Worth a visit to get through a few ticks but overall the beer is pretty entry level/generic 90’s brew pub fayre.“

“I like the idea of a brewpub that serves something other than burgers, fish and chips, and pizza. The beers were solid but not spectacular although I did enjoy the milk stout. I can’t say if they bartenders have much beer knowledge but it had a neighborhood local vibe to the place. Everyone at the bar seemed to know one another. The sampler was reasonably priced and they threw in a free pint which was unexpected. I didn’t sample the food but what I saw around the bar looked tasty.“

“Stopped in with my girlfriend on my way up to Vermont. Bartender was very friendly. Unfortunately, a number of beers had kicked (was especially sad to miss the Milk stout) but I was still able to fill a 7 beer sampler, so no big deal. Beers were all solid to good. The blueberry lager surprised and impressed me. We’re both vegetarians, so our food options were very limited (I won’t hold that against them though, I know it’s a steakhouse). The jalapeño poppers were good, but the batter on the bloomin onion was oddly dusty tasting and made me feel a bit sick. Overall, it was a great stop. Place had a local feel (the cowboy theme is a bit hokey though), but you know you’re in a good place when the (very friendly) bartender knows all the regulars by name and usual order. Wish this was closer to home.“

“stopped in here with family for dinner. Food was good and the tap selections were massive. We sampled 10 of the pubs brews on one trip alone. Service was good as were the prices.“

“Who doesn’t like a a Greek-Western Themed Steakhouse-Brewery! Great atmospher, extensive pub food menu, always give you plenty to eat, excellent service., lots of beers on tap. The beer can be great when they invest in it, like the 2x IPA, and mediocre when they do things like put watermellon flavor in. Definitely worth a trip.“

“The place looks like a Ponderosa, however, the beer are top notch, very solid. We had a sampler (6 beers) and managed to get a taste of the cask aged King Oak Milk Stout. Service was friendly and the brewer came to say hi. Visited on Inbièrenationale IV, May 2007.“

“I finally got up here to have a dinner and a few beers. This place will not disappoint. The decor is western style steakhouse. Their beers are quite good. I am not sure what is actually brewed here and what comes from their off site brewery, but they had a very large selection of their beers on tap. We started out with an appetizer of onion rings. Thick cut, tasty and a very large quantity. I had a filet mignon, while my wife had swordfish. Both were excellent and reasonably priced. The portions were generous without being too much. Even the kids menu was good. My daughter had chicken strips, which looked like they were made there.“

“This one is down the street from my crib so I have been a few times. The growlers are on sale every now and then across the street from me for $5. The restaurant is good but no TV’s for the sox game. I recommend the steak salad since it is the cheapest steak on the menu and you get a great piece of meat. There was a live jazz guitar player on the deck last time I was there. None of the hoppy beers were great, but the stouts and porters were good. They have a rotating list of fruit beers that are all interesting. Give it a shot if you are in the mood for steak, but head down the road to Northampton if you want better grub and great beer.“

“A very nice brewpub in the middle of North Connecticut and Southern Massachussets. I enjoyed the food (outstanding steaks, especially the filet mignon) and selection of beer on tap. The value was solid and the service outstanding. It was a treat to get a server who actually had a clue after an earlier stop in the night. This brewpub knows how to use the hops.“

“This Greek restaurant and steakhouse serves quality food and well-crafted beers in a classy Western ambiance. Yes, classy and Western were used in the same sentence. The homemade fries were excellent (not the generic freezer kind at nearby Northampton Brewery, for example) and the authentic Greek salad I had was indeed authentic and very flavorful. The beer menu was a tad disappointing in that it falsely advertised 14-15 beers they only had 8 in reality. None really stood out, but none was disappointing either. This place is a bit out of the way, but I wouldn’t hesitate to come back if I were in the vicinity of Springfield or Northampton.“

“An out of the way place that brews great beer/ They are quite nice and inventive. The food is on the average side from a steak house (smaller) perspective. The ambience is rustic and the people are friendly. The staff is fine until they get in the weeds. The bartender we had said they were out of a stout but we were just poured one a few moments earlier.“

“An upcoming brewpub built on a solid restaurant. Above average beers if but the standard trends and American hops only need apply. A huge place, and in a well-travelled local area. The beers were all appropriately served, not too hot or carbonated and my travelling mate was very satisfied with the food. The bartenders took their beers seriously, it was very fast and friendly service, and the assistant brewers were keen to come by seeing I was taking notes, to offer some extra beers not being otherwise served. Best - the porter. -- “

“Great place to have a beer, the American wheat was awesome! As well as the two IPA’s offered. The service was top notch and the food was outstanding and plenty of it on your plate. I have zero negative comments about this joint. They offer a bunch of different beers for everyones tastes, did I like them all? No, but that’s just personal preference, the porter and brown were a bit middle of the road and not to exciting, but still easily drinkable. All the beers I sampled (8) where technically well made and clean. However, my only regret is that I don’t live across the street from this place! Check it out, you won’t be dissapointed. Opa-Opa is definately a "breath of fresh air" compared to 90% of the brew pubs in the New England area.“

“Very big restaurant/brewery, and it was very crowded during my visit- it seemed like the whole entire town of Southampton were there eating and drinking. Maibockaddict’s comment was right on, I felt like I was in Texas eating here, well minus sawdust on the floor and the mechanical bull. I am not sure how I feel about that but anyway.. Sat at the bar, got pretty good service especially considering how busy it was. beer was pretty well made and the skewer platter I got for dinner was pretty tasty. Considering they have a 13 + % IIPA on tap and their other beers seem to be solid, this is worth a stop.“

“I got to visit this place three times in the past month and a half and each time, they were out of almost half their beers, although between the three visits, and a trip to Table and Vine, I was able to try 12 (soon to be 13) of their beers. I finally found out that they have been growlering and selling their beers in package stores throughout Massachusetts, which is what contributed to the beer shortage at the brewpub. The food is great. The beers, while enjoyable can be repetetive. There are currently 4 light beers on their menu in addition to some really great session beers and a few attempts at strong beers. They are about to release contract brewed six packs of their staple beers, so hopefully that will alleviate their availability issues at the brewpub. The wait staff is clueless and not especially helpful. My waitress went as far as to lie about the availability of several beers when I asked for a sampler on one of my visits. They are much more friendly at the bar than at the tables here as each time I felt snubbed when ordering beer over something from their wine list at the tables. I’m looking forward to revisiting this place when they have their distribution settled and having another great meal.“

“Good size stand alone building. Plenty of parking. Dark wood and stone interior with a cowboy/westerm motif. Horns and antlers all around. Big rectangle bar with I’d guess 40 chairs, brewery visible from bar. One big projection tv and 8 others built into bar. Lots of tables and a large outdoor patio. Country music playing. Help dressed up in denim with neckerchiefs. Was a qiet tuesday afternoon when I stopped by only half a dozen patrons at that point. I had the fish & chips, but i substitued onion rings, big piece of fish that was a tad oily, but still good. Maybe a tad heavy on the batter. I had the Buckwheat IPA, A-10 Warthog, and American Wheat. 12 beers on tap, but cask had just kicked. Talked with brewer Dan & Asst Dennis for a bit. Bartender talked how she liked the malty beer rather than hoppy. Nice place to go to. You could take the family here and everyone should find something to eat.“

“I was astounded by the selection with 12 beers brewed at the restaurant and of very high quality. It turns out that the brewer has come over from Maplewood, which is no longer in business. That was my favorite brewery of all time. Funny how things happen! The food here is very good with huge portions. Well worth a stop.“

“Everyone needs to come here and experience what the select few have had the opportunity to taste. The brewer here is the best in Mass..... His selection here is excellent, coming from Maplewood Farms in Amherst, Dan has had the chance to custom his brews to the clientele...... from the Opa Opa Light to the higher ABV brews,,,, you have to check thi splace out,,,, and after you have had the chance you will thank me“

“This place is Texas. Big everything. Big bar, big dining areas. Big steaks and sandwiches. And one of the bigest brews you will find at any brewpub, anywhere: 13.75% (sometimes even higher). Huge dining area and a big bar with more seating. Cowboy stuff on the walls, and the servants are all dressed like cowboys/cowgirls. Had a sandwich, and it was excellent. Steaks are supposed to be very good. Prices are reasonable. Beers very good, with that monster A10 Warthog being the most fun. There is also a rotating hand pump brew. Well worth the visit.“
