“A provincial pub in the Bury area, this has the feel of a club to it, but is an open pub to all. It’s a Holt’s pub so the beers and ales available are predominantly from the brewer, although a guest ale is available here too. It’s basically a very large single room with a central bar that serves both sides, those being a bar and best area, but there’s not much to choose between the two. There’s also a connected function area that’s only portioned by a makeshift wall and is often an extension of the pub rather than being an out of bounds area when the pub is not in use. Basically this pub is much bigger than it needs to be in its own building in the very small commercial centre that exists here. There’s parking out front but is limited during daytime hours given there’s a number of different shops around here.“

“Easily found on the main road through Unsworth, this Thwaites pub is fairly large inside, although if the weather is good the extensive garden area at the rear is probably going to be busier as it’s enclosed and there’s plenty of parking space too. It’s traditional in design and appearance with a long bar broken up by a single pillar. There’s two hand pumps on either side of this so check both areas as the selection of Thwaites ales varies. If you prefer keg then there’s permanent Thwaites options in this respect too. It has a relaxed atmosphere and a cosy feel to it. The landlord is more than happy to chat to you but he’s also more than happy to close early if no-one is in.“

“On the north side of Unsworth right next to the Bury Golf Course. It’s not a bad alternative for a 19th hole, especially if you want to sample Lees various ales, there a couple of cask options available, one will be the regular bitter option found in most Lees pubs and the other one of the less regular or seasonal brews, however there’s also keg ales and lager here also from the brewer. The pub is fairly small with a couple of rooms available to frequent, although the cosiest area is right in front of the small bar looking out of one of the front windows.“
