We visited Voorburgse Bierwinkel on Saturday 1st October 2016. We were at a campsite about 5-6 miles away and was just nipping to the shops and realised that this was more or less in the vicinity. The shop is located on a little side alley just off of the main shopping street. It’s easy to find with Google Maps if you can get to Voorburg, and I am guessing that public transport would be easy from Rotterdam/Den Haag or Delft, but for us the bike is always the best option.

As others mention this is a shop with two rooms. Off to the LH side you will be faced with mostly Belgian beers and it’s a good selection, nothing ultra rare that I could see but decent nonetheless. on the RH side and the side where the serving counter is you will find only Dutch beers. Again I thought that the choice was really good, it’s nicely laid out and I was easily able to pick up a couple of beers that I had never had before.

The owner was offering free tasters, the shop was quite busy, one rather selfish chap came in with child in pushchair and seemed totally oblivious or ignorant of others already in here. Prices were a little on the high side, but I got the impression that Voorburg looked a town of rather well heeled residents. If in town it’s definitely worth popping in.

“Small shop divided in two rooms, one with Dutch beers and one with Belgian, other foreign beers and fruitbeers. The Dutch room holds the most bottles and has local beers, beers from some seriously tiny breweries as well as some of the well available bigger Dutchies. Prices are on the high side, be ready to expect around or above €3 per bottle (€2,95 + €0,10 deposit), but I guess that’s reasonable for stuff that is pourly distributed. Staff was enjoying the sun next to the entrance when I arrived and jumped up to guide me around the shop, very friendly, had no need to test his knowledge as I browsed around. The Belgian side of the shop was full of classics and few of the unknown. A nice shop for beginning beer enthusiasts and a shop with probably always a few Dutch ticks for more seasoned tickers. I was hoping to find some newly released Dutch beers but didn’t find what I was looking for.“

“A lovely little shop in Voorburg’s old center, beautifully decorated and almost with an air of being in someone’s house rather than a shop. Fairly reasonable selection of beer with a lot of Dutch micros, some Belgian classics and a few internationals. Certainly would be tough to leave empty handed. The owner was very friendly and helpful even giving out samples while we browsed. Will certainly revisit when I’m in Voorburg.“
