They have up to 14 taps, most of which are from the greatly improving Whitstable brewery and around 80 bottles and cans from around the UK, plus a handful from Belgium. Working WiFi. A must-visit bar for anyone in Whitstable. Actually a must-visit bar for anyone in Kent for that matter! Can’t wait to return.“ |

A good 40 to 50 beers and nearly all from Kent both old and new leaning with BA beers from Time and Tide amongst the trad bitters.

Located on the High Street, 17 doors down from the Black Dog, the Twelve Taps is a keg only micro pub with gin and wine tossed in allied to a decent canned beer selection in the fridge.
Single room bar that probably seats 50 or so when full the walls and ceilings are adorned with tap badges and a display of underwear !
Mixture of high bench along the back wall and low table seating on the inside.
The place was less than half full on arrival at 1500 but by the time we left an hour later it was packed.
Thirds available and tasting flights will save you money over individual beers.
Selection on tap was a-typical on my visit as they had a Buxton brewery TTO on.
10 Buxton beers plus a Hammerton imperial stout and lost & grounded pils formed the 12 taps.
Service was prompt and friendly.
Overall a great little craft focussed micropub.“ |

Big emphasis on good independent wines, lots of local / regional beer and cider, some international craft options in the fridge. Even a sweet section. Seemed to be quite popular on our visit, and justly so. The kind of offy every town should have.

| 52 /100 Forge (Restaurant) WHITSTABLE FISHERMAN’S HUTS, SEA WALL “A shack on Whitstable beach serving oysters, donuts, fish and chips and some very good beer. Its served out of polypins and the pint of IPA that I had (no idea of the brewery) was very good. They do say that the beer has to be drunk in their little fenced in area, but the chap I was with and I smuggled them out and onto the beach where our respective wives were waiting and monitoring the children. The food looks excellent, huge portions of fish and chips and the oysters are shucked in front of you. In fact, they are shucked slightly round the corner from the serving hatch, but they have a CCTV camera installed so you can make sure it is done properly. Service was poor, but the young man serving us explained that they were a man down on the day, so they are forgiven for that. If you are in Whitstable I recommend a visit.“ |

Certainly not a destination on its own, but a good option for the town.“ |

As the name suggests, they have 12 taps with a good selection of local Kent brewed beers and the reminder from the rest of the U.K. and around the world. A really nice place with a nice warm feel to it. They serve 1/3 pint flights, priced on the alcohol content. Friendly service and solid wifi. A really superb place and well worth a visit. I will return, just not sure when!“ |

A friendly, town-centre craft keg house featuring beers from UK micros. A low ceilinged intimate narrow pub with a small beer garden at the rear. Friendly staff and chilled, relaxed drinkers. I enjoyed my pint of Magic Rock Salty Kiss, sadly time was running out otherwise I would have stayed for a couple more. Flights are available. This is a great addition to Whitstable’s beer circuit, and deserves to succeed. It is completely different from the German-styled Ship Centurion across the road, but equally pleasant and welcoming. Beware it is closed on Mondays except bank holidays. Enjoy!“ |
| 72 /100 Ship Centurion (Bar) 111 HIGH STREET, “Visited this traditional, welcoming pub on 7th May 2016. This is a pleasant town centre house with a German theme to it. Indeed this theme runs through the food menu, the keg beer range, the illuminated signage and events for locals which include trips to Germany. Staff were very friendly behind the bar, and my pint of Time and Tide Ship Centurion was superb. The cask ale range is micros to medium sized breweries from southern and eastern England. I was not in the pub long enough to survey or sample the German range. Small screen TVs showing sports. It was an early Saturday evening and the pub was fairly busy but not heaving. All in all a very pleasant pub and well worth visiting while in town. Also handy for the Twelve Taps over the road.“ |
