64 /100 WIDDOP ROAD
“Perched high on the hills between Hebden Bridge and Burnley on the road that leads to the very beautiful National Trust Hardcastle Crags valley, this pub is somewhat of an enigma given there is practically nothing around it for miles in what is a barren landscape. This coaching inn building has been converted into what is a fine country pub, not too large but very comfortable and appealing on any trip across the moors. There’s a warm carpet and soft furnishings with wooden furniture and places to sit either side of the centrally located bar. The bar with a fine whisky selection also serves several cask ales and is open for meals for a couple of hours at lunchtime and again in the evenings as well as all day on Sundays. Accommodation is also available and a couple of tables between the entrance and the large car park if you want to sit outside.“
