“Loud place, in the evening anyways, a bit rowdy. Excellent beer selection. Food was decent. Worth a stop for the beer list. Bartender seemed to know his beer.“

“Really enjoyed it here. Wide variety of well done styles. No food. Friendly, helpful, gave samples. Lots of groups meeting here today. A community gathering place.“

“Small place. Outdoor seating area. Nice selection of beers. It kind of hides in an industrial area. No sign visible from one direction. A good stop.“

“Cool, hip vibe, even though some of the tables are in an old store front, like you’re on display, but there are plenty of other tables as well. Service was pretty good, seemed to be competent about the beer menu, at least knew what was and was not on tap and available in bottles, but a little slow at times. Selection was great, well curated both package and draft. Food was great, lots of cool options, tapas or full meals. A little pricier, but a nice date night or special occasion spot.“

Gravity Growlers (Beer Store)
341 FURYS FERRY ROAD SUITE 8
“Fills a needed niche - a convenient quick stop-in offering a couple of dozen taps - some items not necessarily readily available in these parts, other regional favorites from GA and NC, along with some interesting bottles. Rotating taps, try before you buy although no in-house consumption (per law).“

“Toast has a large selection of craft beer, which can make it worth the drive. To clear up one item from Travlr, you can break 6-packs to build your own. Most are listed with both 6-pack and single can/bottle prices.“

“Very dark place on themain drag of Augusta, nonetheless a bright spot in the otherwise pretty dark and dank downtown area. Six rocking chairs out front, mainly for smokers apparently, although some folks were sitting at the table belonging to the taco place next door.“

“Large generic sports bar. Most taps are devoted to macros and fake micros. Nothing local that I saw, except a few of the usual Sweetwaters that you find everywhere. They were evn out of two of their three ciders (one draft, two bottle), my back-up when there are no interesting beers available. Food was generic pub grub. Very friendly servers, the main saving grace of this place.“

Ft Gordon Class 6 (Beer Store)
3RD AVE BLDG 31300
“I’m not sure who entered this place, I’m generally not a fan of entering places that aren’t technically open to the general public, with a few rare exceptions. But now that it’s here - there’s not a specific address for it, but just head down Rice Rd until you see the fire department and the water tower - it’s right next to the water tower. The only local beers were a few Sweaatwater things, but there was a reasonable, although fairly small, selection from across the country (Victory stood out) as well as some imports (Wychwood, some common Belgians, a decent German selection). Prices, of course, are good since there isn’t any tax - Weihenstephaner is 3 bucks, for instance. Theoretically you can oredr any beer that any Class VI anywhere in the world can get, since federal stores aren’t subject to state rules - but I’ve never tested that, and it might just be urban legend. One day I’ll find out.“

“Large place, large selection, especially bombers. Lots of sixers and four packs, but no singles other than the bombers and 750s. A bit light on local stuff. Good prices, especially on imports.“

“Visited as I was traveling through Georgia and South Carolina. A great selection of beer. All of the beer in six packs along the shelves are available as singles, so you have a lot of beer to choose from if you are from out of town. I would definitely come back!“

“Visited here in early May ’13. Close to the interstate (I-20) for those passing through. Has an entire cooler wall full of beer with an accompanying warm shelf. Plenty of regional micros represented and some common New England, Colorado and West Coast brewers as well. Import selection was not overly impressive - all the common imports, but nothing out of the ordinary - my focus was on micro singles this trip. Probably had about at least 250 different beers when all is said and done. All six packs are available as singles and no problems at the check out with single pricing. Nice, warm ambiance with soft lighting, friendly, but not overbearing service. Worth a stop if in the Augusta area.“

“Small selection of singles (maybe 50 or so) and you can break six pack. They had some Founders, a couple Lost Abbey and Port Brewing, a bunch of Sweetwater and Terrapin. Staff was friendly. Not great, but decent overall.“

“Classy setup. Very organized store with groups of everything, and two long beer shelves across the back with a cooler across. Very nice selection of across-the-country stuff. Can break up 6s for build-your-owns anywhere. Staff was enthusiastic. Could have spent more time and more money in there. A bit more expensive than Harvard so if it is a more common item, you will save a little buying it at Harvard first - but they are only 10 minutes apart.“

“Kind of hard to get into and out of place stuck next to the tracks right off Washington at the end of the Bobby Jones. Better than some, with a line of beer coolers across the back containing some micros, and a side shelf with some mixed stuff. Mostly stuff from the southeast or Rogue-type "across the country" stuff, but not tons of anything. I thought Toasts was a couple of notches better.“

“Ok, re review. Great service and simple fact they have a few beers that nobody else has.....FACT i would shop here more often if it was not a smoke shop. Prices are a tad higher but if you shop what only they have its a non issue. Great selection of glassware“

“How anyone can compare this place to Toast or Wine World makes me scratch my head. Decent selection but its no where near what it used to be....when Harvard still owned it.... UPDATE. Far as prices go it depends on what your getting as to who has the best price. For example Harvard’s is the cheapest on Stone’s porter but Toast is cheaper on Rasputin stout. Harvard’s is now allowing singles which is a huge step forward.“

“I haven’t had a decent Beer in days, my exam was over and it was time to celebrate. This was the closest place from my hotel to have any craft Beers. Laid back pizza place decor, reminded me a bit of Pizza Port, but replace the surfer stuff with hippie stuff. A few intersting pieces of art here and there. I sat at the bar facing parts of an old WV van used to decorate the walls, not too far from the fridges and taps. About a dozen taps, some not too interesting but it was plenty better than the rest of the area’s bars. Sweetwater 420 did the job just fine. Lots of bottle selections, but nothing really caught my eye - almost nothing local - so I stuck with pints. Barmaids spent most of their time chatting with locals, however I never got caught with an empty pint, they were always around just before I was dry. Pizza was good, not the best ever but certainly above average quality and value. If you’re downtown and don’t have a car, this is pretty much the only place to get craft Beer within walking distance.“

“It is always a pleasure to go to Toasts! They have a great selection of craft/micro beers and you can pick your own six-pack in order to try them all. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with the owner often behind the counter. 90% of my ratings are on beer purchased here. FatTony“

“Really the only place to get any selection at all on the Georgia side. One small corner and a couple sections in the cooler dedicated to specialty beers but have some good ones - usually has Great Divide Yeti (even BA) on hand along with several Belgians, Georgia micros and occasional surprises (found Windhoek lager here). Some beers sold as singles.“

“They have a good selection of beer. Everything from: Heineken, Newcastle, Sam Adams, and other Domestics, to Paulaner , Tenets, and Chimay. They even have some local companies like Terrapin and Sweetwater. They have a friendly staff that’s willing to help and a drive thru if you’re feeling a little lazy.“

“The best liquer and beer store in Augusta and second best (better in price!) to get imports (Belgian, German, some Brit) and Micro’s. They will order stuff on request if available from their distributor. The staff is friendly and helpful, however, they do not know their beer.“

“By far the best draft and bottled selection in Augusta. Usually has 40+ beers on draft, including Belgians and high alc%. He has 200+ bottled. He does have some correct glassware, but you usually have to request it. During the day, the place is dead, so you can speak with the owner, who knows beer. In the evenings/night, he has a bunch young (usually hot girls) bartenders who don’t know crap about beer, so you have to be specific.“
