78 /100 14 E BROUGHTON ST Visited in mid-January '20 on a Saturday afternoon. Located right in the middle of a classic old Southern town square in a restored old storefront with high tin ceiling and a long bar. A few TVs for sports fans. Small courtyard in back with tables and a cornhole courts. Have about eight of their own on tap, several styles represented, all were pretty decent. Pizza from their wood-fired oven is the featured item on the menu and he two we shared were superb with local ingredients. Nice short hop from Tallahassee, well worth the trip! |
70 /100 14 E BROUGHTON ST Way cool little spot in a cool little town. Went by there on their opening weekend and the place was pretty full, even though the downtown square area looked pretty sleepy on a summer Saturday. The beer was pretty solid - I'm sure they're still trying to dial their new equipment in, but they had 5 taps of their own stuff, and it was well suited for a muggy south Georgia June afternoon. They have a wood-fired pizza oven, but I got the charcuterie board, which came with lots of local cheese, produce and sausages. Plus the odd pickle and olive. The environment is homey, and there's a nascent biergarten. Service was family and top-notch. If you've got a blanket and the weather's nice, it might be worth snagging a growler and spreading out in the town square across the street. Stop by if you're within 50 miles. |
