74 /100 4 S. TENNESSEE ST Interior is open and inviting, plenty of tables, a short bar. It us a little cold, but this is a new brewery that hasn't had a chance to gain character. Servers are very helpful at suggesting beers and making you feel welcome. Worth finding. |
70 /100 Mellow Mushroom Cartersville (Restaurant) 28 S. WALL ST. A small Mellow Mushroom, but worth a visit. Servers are alert and welcoming. Food is typical of a Mellow Mushroom, as in above bar average. Selection focuses on local brews. If ever you are in Cartersville, drop by. |
78 /100 Johnny’s Pizza (Restaurant) 244 N. DIXIE AVE Only 20 taps, but no "crap on tap". The owner is passionate about good beer. The taps rotate regularly, and the staff knows how to take care of the place even if they aren’t all knowledgeable. This is a great oasis in a beer desert. |
96 /100 Old Havana Cigar (Bar) 602 E. MAIN STREET Super friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff, especially Curt on the beers. Superior humidor for the Cigar fans. Local crowd welcoms everyone. Truly the best craft beer selection in North Georgia. If their distributor of Terrapin Beer (North Georgia Distributing Company) would get their head out of thier ass and actually supply their customers, then the Terrapin supply would be better. Good availability of about 80-90 brews.
Simply a great place! |
58 /100 Country Spirits 41 (Beer Store) 1130 JOE FRANK HARRIS PKWY SE Its a liquor store that sells a decent selection of beer at less than decent prices. While you can find things here and they are willing to order you things you want you WILL pay for it. Dearly. |
52 /100 Old Goat Winery (Homebrew Shop) 640 NORTH TENNESSEE STREET Not at all a beer store, but they still order anything you need. Nice folks. I wish they stocked a bit more stuff, but it is Cartersville..... |
94 /100 Country Spirits 41 (Beer Store) 1130 JOE FRANK HARRIS PKWY SE COUNTRYSPIRITS 41 has a very good selection of Belgium ales and wheat beers especially since considering Cartersville is still relatively small..They have just added 3 more doors of imports recently also. |
56 /100 Old Goat Winery (Homebrew Shop) 640 NORTH TENNESSEE STREET This place isn’t exactly the best of the homebrew stores around as they focus more on the wine end of things, but for people like me stranded in the hinterlands of homebrewing, it’s nice to have a place to call in an order and be able to pick up the supplies and ingredients I need without having to drive more than 30 minutes. The place also lets you make wine at the store if you’re interested in that. Like I said, the brewing supplies are limited, but they do stock sanitizing chemicals, bottle capping supplies, carboys, plastic fermentors and dried yeast. Anything else you can order by Monday and they’ll have it in on Wednesday. This might be a good place for those of us in Northwest Georgia. The only reason I didn’t give them a 10 on service was because the owners only make wine and liquers so they won’t be as helpful as owners who are homebrewers, but they’ll do whatever they can to help you out. |
