78 /100 3085 MAIN ST SUITE 520 So, this was a dartboard destination. It happened to be the closest spot to my out-of-the-way hotel - but it was a lucky find. Super clean, open but not so as to make you agoraphobic. Beer was good quality, a good selection, some styles you don't see very often. Service was friendly, professional and prompt. Enjoyable, worth a stop. The charcuterie board has some weird pickles on it. |
82 /100 3085 MAIN ST SUITE 520 If you live and/or work in Duluth, this is a must! Wide-open, yet somehow cozy, plenty of seating inside and out. They have plenty of in-house beers, all of them ranging from good to excellent. Food is rather tasty, and since this is a farm-to-table joint, it is all fresh. Servers make you feel welcome while being efficient. You'll want to take a four-pack home! |
68 /100 Whole Foods Market - Duluth (Grocery Store) 5945 STATE BRIDGE RD Larger, venue style Whole Foods as was the style 5 or so years ago. Nice beer selection, lots of locals and a good selection of foreign and domestic beers. Lots of singles in a BYO six pack format. I didn’t see any taps, but I was in a big hurry so maybe I missed it. I didn’t not see any staff in the beer area. Prices were solid. Tons of parking. |
76 /100 Sweetwater Package Store (Beer Store) 3900 PEACHTREE INDUSTRIAL BLVD Their emphasis is on wine and hard liquor, rather than beer, but they do have a respectable selection of craft brews and imports. They have several large coolers dedicated to craft beers, though they have plenty of the expected industrial swill. The cashier was very friendly and worked efficiently. Prices seem to be typical for the Atlanta area. I found only a few beers that I haven’t tried before, but if you’re new to Atlanta you may make a discovery. As far as beer stores, it is far from the best, but still merits a visit. |
34 /100 Kroger - Duluth (Grocery Store) 6555 DULUTH PKWY, STE 200 Not great, but has some beers available. There is one section which features various singles which can be purchased as a build your own 6 pack. |
48 /100 Duluth Wine, Beer & Spirits Super Store (Beer Store) 2870-A PEACHTREE INDUSTRIAL BLVD. This superstore is geared more towards wine and hard liquor (vodka, bourbon, etc.) rather than beer. Nevertheless, they have a decent selection of imports and craft brews, as well as the usual industrial swill. I did find a few beers that I had never seen before, including Kira Wit, Wake Up Dead and A** Kisser. Service was acceptable, but not the best I have seen. I did not find it to be worthy of a special trip, but if you just happen to be in the area, go ahead and pay a visit. |
92 /100 Taco Mac - Duluth (Bar) 3543 PEACHTREE INDUSTRIAL BOULEVARD Easy to find, with ample parking. This is a lively place, with plenty of big TVs for sports fans. Food is above average, and the beer selection is simply fabulous. |
60 /100 Whole Foods Market - Duluth (Grocery Store) 5945 STATE BRIDGE RD Fairly packed beer aisle located just past the seafood and behind the smallish wine pit. Belgian 750s (most in the $8 range) dominate the high-gravity section. Other craft brews are typical to the Atlanta beer scene (that is, not available in TN). For the home chefs reading this... half or more of the store is takeout restaurants; meat, super-overpriced produce, etc is still top-notch, but takes some hunting to locate. Most of the other shoppers are cellphone soccer moms in track suits. |
74 /100 Whole Foods Market - Duluth (Grocery Store) 5945 STATE BRIDGE RD This is the newest Whole Foods in ATL. It has the best beer selection for a Grocery Store in ATL that I’ve seen. Prices are better too! Everything is always pulled forward and obviously rotated. John was very knowledgeable and he also knows a few places around town to get a cold one. Definitely a place worth checking out! |
