“Brewery couple blocks from the square. Good luck finding street parking, or several pay lots around. Rear entrance, so cannot get in from street side, but there are signs telling you where to go. Huge outdoor area with fire pits. Inside lotta tables, games and brewing equipment. Adequately sized bar, and believe all ordering is done there. On a 55 degree Saturday afternoon in January with redhot13, inside and outside was packed, and line to get beer at bar was about 10 deep. Food truck that day. Squeezed into last two seats at bar, and was immediately taken care of while tender was pouring other drinks. Service was great, and that was with maybe 4 servers for the 150 people there--give them a big kudos for always remaining calm. Lots of kids (wife says must be dad's weekend...) and pretty loud, but could still manage a conversation. Nice ambiance, beer was above average, a lot to like about this place. A destination, I don't know, but if anywhere near the square, a definite visit. Will return.“

“Tucked away not far from Red Hare, this place is worth finding. Interior is cozy but not cramped with a variety of seating to accommodate groups of various sizes - though be careful, as some of the tables are very rough and not the best places to put down a pint! Servers make you feel glad you visited, always ready to provide good beer. They have only snacks, but a food truck is usually there to give a good meal. Their beers are mostly one-and-done, so visit often.“

“Cozy interior has lived in feel. Waitstaff know their craft, if their service is not the fastest. Food is quite good - try the Kale & Farro Salad! If you can find parking, worth a visit.“

“Finally, a brewery close to the square. Parking is minimal on-site. There are some pay lots within an easy walk. Wonderful outdoor area with a couple of fire pits. Indoors you will find the bar and brewing equipment. Like most breweries, lots of games to play. First time I've seen a 4 person bimini. The beer is good but could use a little variety. The staff is fantastic. Wish they had food. Food trucks are ok but it can be hit or miss on the menu.“

“A little hidden in the back of a mixed use industrial type area with offices and cul-de-sacs everywhere, but once you find it it is pretty fun. School paraphernalia everywhere, with a recess yard outside and bus benches inside, including a principal's office and music department area; quirky and fun. Service is great, friendly and accommodating, with great knowledge of the beer as all of their recipes are open source. Selection is varied and all average to slightly above in quality, but you can tell its homebrewers trying to get production legs underneath of them. I think they will be a nice addition to a burgeoning beer scene.“

“Stopped by here almost accidentally. Nice atmosphere, albeit in the warehouse district. Good little beer garden, but I was here on a dreary, overcast January day with a front pushing through. Good selection, good swag. Beers are pretty solid. They had a great minstrel, doing the solo guitar thing. I could see parking getting tighter on a busier day.“

“You know how Gordon Biersch is an arguably not-so-great restaurant that also happens to make and sell its own beer? Well, Glover Park is an events space that also happens to make and sell its own beer. The taproom is situated downstairs, entering at the rear of the building, with a large, spacious, and (from peering in the windows) lovely-looking events space on top. Various seating options: bar, a few nooks and some longish community tables, plus some outdoor seats. They only recently opened, so I suppose they're still filling out their draught menu. They had about eight options, all falling into the "fine" category. You know, nothing particularly great, though nothing deeming the need to dump it into the first potted plant you come across. Still, they come across as uninspired offerings. It reminds me of the beers at a location where there are no names, just styles: PALE ALE, STOUT, IPA. Minimal parking spots, with what seemed like a shared lot with next-door buildings. We parked across the street at a paid lot.“

“This store is bigger than it appears from the road, and has far more beer than I expected. They are a particularly good for 6- and 12-packs of local beers but also have a noteworthy roster of both imports and other domestics. Good prices across the (craft beer) board. I neither sought help nor saw anyone on the floor: just a single person at the register.“

“An old school Irish style pub, cramped quarters, dank and musty, but feels like home. Service is there when you want it an friendly enough, but not the most knowledgeable about beer. Food is mediocre Irish pub fare, not terrible but not great. It has it's charms, a decent beer list, and they're starting to brew their own now.“

“Very clearly designed after the law was changed to allow breweries to sell directly to the consumer. Looks kind of like a brewpub that forgot to build a kitchen. Nice look to the place with a lot of decorative lights and exposed bricks, but extremely loud inside when busy. Also the parking lot is a huge pain to get out of when busy. The natural exit was blocked by a food truck and an outdoor sales tent. Really good service considering I think we showed up on their second day, but I think they'll need a little time to work on their beers. Most were fine but one note, but the IPA was on the bad side.“

“For West Cobb Hops, Grain, & Vine shines. There's nothing around that is close to the selection and variety they are stocking. This was a very pleasant add to the community as far as beer selection and availability goes.“

“At first it looks like a typical industrial microbrewery. The tasting area is small, but there is plenty of seating. Their offerings range from good to excellent. They are "conjoined" with Naughty Soda, brewers of hard sodas, so try one or two of those. Servers are alert and helpful, good at making you feel welcome. Worth finding - and visiting more than once.“

“Not a super exciting location. Places like Arches look a lot more like they planned on being a destination than this place. This seems a lot more like Georgia breweries we're before they could sell direct to the consumer. They're in an office park behind some interstate hotels. Bar is down a hall where they've put up a chain link fence to separate a little bar area from the brewery space. That being said, the guys working the taps were friendly and really into their beer. The one got a little excited when I said the crowler 3-pack holder was a cool idea. I'm a beer nerd. I really want the guy selling me the beer to care at least as much about it. The beer is good, so I'd definitely recommend a visit because seriously why does anyone value ambience as anything other than an tiebreaker?“

“A big liquor store that obviously caters to wine and liquor, but still a whole wall of coolers with beer, so not too shabby. Solid selection that isn’t picked clean like some of the other ones in the area, so you might be able to find some sleepers. But doubtful they get any of the stupid crazy stuff. If you can’t find stuff in the area at other places, stop here.“

“In a portion of a warehouse, cobbled together and DIY for sure. The staff was super friendly and excited about their beer. Selection was large and varied, with plenty of different styles, including hard sodas, but most of them could use some tweaking. You could make a day of this and red hare before going to a baseball game at the new Braves stadium.“

“A Wild Wing Cafe franchise that was bought away and the decor and menu pretty much stayed the same with some name changes. There is a smoking lounge, a stage with live music on the weekends, and a tiki bar that is open spring, summer, and fall. 42 taps when the tiki bar isn’t open, another 12 when it is, and cask dinners occasionally. Selection is pretty awesome for this part of Marietta, and they sell a lot of beer so it rotates often. Some of the service is good, some not, and the beer menu is rarely up to date, but there will always be a gem in there. Food is bar food, straight up, but great wings and burgers, with a bacon burger coming from the meat market right next door. My favorite spot north of town, even if it is a bit grimy.“

“Schoolhouse features bottles, cans, growler fills, and homebrew supplies; they also give lessons. Service is alert and helpful. They have only twenty taps, but all are superior brews. They stock only the best local craft brews, except for one bottle of Bud Lite (as a joke). This could be a good venue for a Meetup or other gathering. Drop by if you are in the area - you’ll probably want to return.“

“Just behind a Cracker Barrel right off the interstate. They do both hard sodas and beer in the same place. They have multiple variations of tours, with and without a take-home glass, with or without your own growler, with or without a six pack to go. You can choose sodas or beer for your six tickets. Basic tour was eight bucks, better value than any other place I visited. Beers were OK - decent variety but some need work. Place is a small taproom in a production facility where everything looks homemade, including the HVAC and the brewing equipment, a plus in my book. They’re opening a music hall next door. Very friendly and helpful staff, owner hanging out as well. Worth a look.“

“Your typical microbrewery in an industrial location. Interior is cozy and unpretentious. They have their own brews on tap, but those are good - and the continue to improve. Service is very good. They provide adequate seating and standing room where you can enjoy your beers. Drop in if you have a chance!“

“Liquor store vibe, but packed to the gills with everything you could ever imagine. The entire right side when you walk in is dedicated to beer, and not just crap, lots of cool, hard to find stuff. The guy working there is really enthusiastic and up to date on the products. Standard to below average pricing for Atlanta, really solid place.“

“Located just off Marietta Square in a former firehouse dating from 1885, its dim but not too dark interior lends a cozy and intimate feeling. This is a good gathering place for small groups. It is also an Official Bookcrossing Zone, so if you are an avid reader you will find lots of books in the back rooms. Service is reasonably fast, and the service people are friendly but not overly so and really make you feel welcome. Food is typical pub fare but well made and delicious.“

“Dedicated to all alcoholic drinks, it still has an impressive selection of beer, emphasizing craft brews. The employees were nothing if not helpful, courteous, and prompt. I found several great beers, including some I have never heard of, and managed to grab at least a couple bottles of limited brews that were running out. Prices are about in line with most shops of this type. Easy to find, worthy of a visit!“

“Went here too get away from the huge crowds at Sweetwater--cant do both due to similar hours. This place was just as crowded. In an industrial court minutes from I-75 and Delk Rd in Marietta. Smallish inside, but a nice little outdoor space with bocce and baggo. Young people that work there are very friendly but really have no idea about the beer or even the POS machines. Got a brewing tip from brewer/owner--very nice guy. Seeing Red Hare all over Atlanta area these days, so good for them. Definitely will return“

“Must visit while in north Atlanta area...but watch the hours...they are short...so best to get here right when they open. The place is roomy and very accommodating with a patio for nice weather. One of the coolest things here is the artwork painted on the walls...all following the rabbit theme. The beers vary from good to very good...but I wouldn’t call any outstanding...nonetheless...this is definitely a worthy stop when in the area. The Gangway IPA was my favorite.“

“Nice little spot north of Atlanta, in a decent location, good amount of indoor and outdoor space to hang out, with a bocce ball court and all. Service was great, no real waiting and knew the beers. Just like all Georgia breweries, you have to buy the tasting glass and then get samples, and the hours are limited, but still worth a visit.“

“Mixed reaction from my first visit to this brewery. Had a great atmosphere with friendly, professional service. Good tour. Good 0% root beer available ... but ... only open for 2 hours at a time, meaning if one arrives a bit after opening there is no way to enjoy all the beer (up to 6 half-pints) included with the tour/tasting. Even in this short period they ran out of one of the 6 beers on tap. Also a bit crowded but can’t hold their popularity on a nice day against them.“

“I remember this store being great... not sure what happened. There is one aisle dedicated to 6 and 12 packs, one small aisle with some bombers, and some 6 packs and cases in a cooler on the back wall. The rest of the store was liquor and wine. Selection was okay... they had some uncommon grabs, and seemed to focus on having a large number of beers from a few brewers rather than a wide variety. Belgians and stouts dominated the bomber section. There were no singles. Prices were good to average, and nobody was on the floor. Cashier was an old man who acted like a monk under an oath of silence... he said hello, goodbye, and not much else. This is a good stop for some uncommon Uinta, Clown Shoes, DFH, and Belgian brews, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to find this place.“

“Big warehouse looking store at the top of the hill. Easy access if you are driving through ATL--easy off and then back on to 75. Real nice selection of locals, and a representative selection of national beers. Every employee I came across knew their stuff, and very friendly. Prices seem decent enough. I will return. Manager Nic really went out of his way to help me out. Great guy--great store.“

“Small little shop that looks a bit scary from the outside (it even has bars on the windows!) and looks like a regular small booze shop on the inside. Beer is located on a couple shelves in the middle, and a large cooler on the back wall. Surprisingly, they seem dedicated to craft beer more than macros, and they have a small selection of very rare beers, including a 3L bottle of Stone 12.12.12 and Mikkeller It’s Alive Lychee. Average value, but they frequently run specials, and all of their beers seem to be fresh and new.“

“Squat old shop near a gas station. Half of their store is dedicated to beer. Like ChainGangGuy said, they have a good selection of singles, and some decent six packs. However, I cannot stress enough that you need to PAY ATTENTION to what you buy. All of the singles were clearly old, but when I picked up a bottle to inspect, I found out that it had expired TWO YEARS ago. The average single was six months or more past its prime. I politely mentioned this to the manager, and he stated that they were phasing out all of their singles and would no longer allow customers to break six packs in the future for inventory reasons.“

Moondog Growlers (Beer Store)
688 WHITLOCK AVE, STE 3B
“Nestled in a short series of suites, not easy to see from the street so keep your eyes peeled. I received prompt, helpful service. Like the other Moondogs, they rotate their taps so you can visit frequently and find something new every time. When I visited, they had about 30 bottles of crafts and imports in addition to the growler taps. Prices appear to be reasonable. Worth a visit if you are in the Marietta area, and have a growler jug to fill.“

“Just off the Marietta square this place surprised me. 30+ taps with a surprising amount of local beers and a few other micros. Service was fine but they are not particular knowledgeable and had to check what was on tap for me as the list wasn’t updated. A somewhat tight space that is slightly smoke with a lot of kitch on the walls. Prices were very affordable but didn’t try the food. Nothing special but good for the area.“

“As already stated by others, this store mainly emphasizes wine and liquor, only a small portion of the store is dedicated to beer. However, someone in charge must know about good beer because the selection is extremely diverse and well-organized. The customer-facing workers didn’t have any beer knowledge, though, so it’s definitely "help yourself." Bring a smartphone with the RateBeer app loaded up, there’s lots of rarities to be had. Lots of bombers, seasonals, imports, rare states, etc. Lots of 12oz singles (some of which are refrigerated) though you definitely pay a premium. I always like scrounging through a clearance section at places like this, but unfortunately they didn’t have one.“

“Huge store/ warehouse on the Barrett Parkway. Great selection of close by regional stuff and some difficult to find West Coast brews. “Complete dive bar, with cramped quarters, low ceilings, too much stuff on the walls, and irish music piped in. The wait staff was not very knowledgeable, but very friendly and helpful. “If you live in Atlanta, this store is a must! Not only do they have a jaw-dropping selection of great craft brews and imports, the prices are impressively low - I probably saved a lot more than I spent in fuel to get there, and that includes an annoying detour around a closed section of I-285. I just about went hog wild at this place! The clerks were eager to please, and did an excellent job of totting up and boxing up my "loot." Though it is clear that their emphasis is on spirits and wine, their beer selection is quite formidable and had me drooling like a St. Bernard - inside. If you live in the Atlanta area, you need to pay Mink’s at least one visit.“
