“Stopped in on way back home from Atlanta. Very nice space refurbished old building. Friendly staff and good variety of styles and affordable to boot. Nothing was particularly exciting but not bad either. Food truck outside.“

“A big grocery store. One aisle has a selection of craft from Georgia as well as the usual macros. Nothing in the way of domestic singles. The closest you can get is to buy one of the variety packs from Terrapin or Sweetwater. Not really worth stopping here though unless your desperate.“

“Fairly standard looking liquor store in the middle of town. Lots of beers from the region and a few from abroad. Most all of them in six pack format or larger apart from some .5L bottles from abroad. The otherwise very friendly and helpful service told me they couldn’t split any of the sixers so I ended up leaving with nothing but water, which is unheard of for me. Great selection here for your average drinker but useless for a ticker.“

“Housed in a stylish old brick building with picnic tables on a front patio. Inside the front door is a room with a standing only bar at one end, bench tables filling the rest of the space. There is a second room with more seating off the first. Beer flights are available at $2 per four ounce pour. The beers are generally faithful to the styles, but many are light with insufficient body. Worth a stop-by if in the area, but not one to travel a distance for a visit.“

“Finally visited May 2017 and was pleasantly surprised! Worth a stop if up that way - and close enough to Five Points that you could hit both. Clean well-light place with a super nice shop keep (don’t expect much beer help). A surprisingly good selection of craft beer, including plenty of GA beer. It’s obvious this place isn’t as popular as some others, so check dates on hoppy beers, but the upside is mean they often have some of the harder to get beers just chilling on the shelf! Prices a little higher than other stores in town, but otherwise worth a stop!“

“Visit all the time! It’s a grocery store. They have great service for a grocery store, but don’t expect beer knowledge. Probably a better selection of beer than the Baytree Village Publix. Lots of craft brews cold and warm, including singles.“

“Went here on a Friday night while passing through town and the place was packed. It’s a liquor and industrial beer store first and foremost, with some decent crafts hanging around for good measure. Found about $100 worth of good Florida and Georgia craft beers I hadn’t had before, especially in the bomber section. There was a decent selection of other crafts and imports, but a few had gathered quite a bit of dust and after checking the dates on a couple of 3 year old IPAs I passed. Service was good at the register. Prices pretty good, got a Sierra Nevada 2016 Beer Camp 24 pack for $24.“

“Have visited several times since moving to Valdosta. This is an interesting place. It’s a music venue and dive bar but they do focus on having good craft beer on tap and in bottles/cans. I’ve been to some tastings and parties hosted by distributors as well as some other events and shows and I’m always surprised and reminded of the quality of their taps and selection. Sort of a grubby dive bar feel but not filthy or disgusting. Prompt bartender service when it’s not slammed and beer knowledge just depends on who you get. Good prices all around, especially on macros. Again, not a beer destination, but a damn fun place to see a show or just hang out and grab a good beer. Let me know if you’re in town and we’ll go party!“

“Have visited several times since moving to Valdosta. This is one of Mrs. Owl and I’s favorite restaurants in town. They have a handful of rotating craft beer taps and several bottles. Like many places in Valdosta, this isn’t exactly a craft beer destination in the beer nerd sense, but it’s a damn good restaurant that does embrace selling good beer. Quaint but slightly fancy homey restaurant feeling. Very friendly service with minor beer knowledge. Awesome food. The burger is great but make sure to listen to the specials for the day/night. Sometimes we just get the special and it’s always amazing. Slightly high priced food, but it’s worth it. Go for lunch for great food prices for what you get. Again, not exactly a destination, but if you’re in town looking for a great place to eat and grab a good beer, go here! And hit me up so we can hang!“

“Have visited a few times since moving to Valdosta. This store is not a beer destination but is convenient if you’re way up on the north side. If you are in the main parts of town, Craft on Draft is your best bet (growler store) and Five Points Liquor is right by CoD and a good bottle shop. Well-lit generic store with a good standard selection of craft beers. I have even found a tick or two when stopping in. I will stop by whenever convenient but otherwise won’t be making the trip up.“

“Have visited several times since moving near downtown including during a beer tasting hosted by a couple of distributors. Stogies is a cigar bar downtown that is near-ish to my house. This isn’t a beer destination, but they do stock a lot of craft beer to go along with your favorite cigar. If you’re around downtown and cigars are your thing, this is a good stop. It’s also very near my house so please hit me up if you visit! Dim but nice cigar bar with very friendly and cigar knowledgable service with minor beer knowledge.“

“Average liquor store with better than average craft beer selections. Not going to find any whales, but you might find things that other stores aren’t getting. Clean, well-light, organized. Prices tad higher than other places in town, but worth a stop in if you are around.“

“Red Door records has now reopened downtown along with their new business "Cinema," which shows classic movies. The place is now reopened with beer, wine, food, etc. It’s definitely an indie/hipster kind of joint, movie food, and a relatively basic beer selection. This is not a destination for beer nerds but a fun stop for anyone wanting to catch a classic movie, check out some vinyl, drink a beer, and have some popcorn, nachos, or pie. Good place!“

Publix - Baytree Village (Grocery Store)

“Entering August 2015 but have been here a million times since I moved here. This is a grocery store, but it’s Valdosta, so unfortunately it carries a pretty good selection even compared to liquor stores. I picked up two ratings there today, in fact. Well-lit, clean store with friendly staff, don’t expect beer knowledge. Pretty good selection for a grocery store in Valdosta. All of the major craft brands like Stone, Dogfish Head, Sierra Nevada, etc. but they will also randomly carry some GA beers and other crafts. Usually pretty cheap prices, especially if you catch a good craft brew on sale. Always a good spot to catch new Sierra Nevada and Sam Adams (and such brands) ratings first. I will most certainly keep buying beers here as I buy groceries, and sometimes even stop in just for a six pack.“

“I visited this place for the first time a few months ago, so we’ll say maybe March 2015. The reason I went and why I felt it important to add is because at th entire they were the only place in town you could get Omaha Brewing Co. (GA). I guess it’s owned by the same people or something. I still haven’t seen Omaha anywhere else in town besides Craft on Draft, so perhaps this is the only restaurant. Anyway, it’s sort of an amped up Texas Roadhouse type place. I was under the impression it was a fancy steakhouse but it is indeed not. Our service was slow, even for a southern place. The food was good, nothing standout, and the prices are average to high. The beer was fine, happy to get some Omaha ticks (GA ticks). I probably won’t be running back to this place anytime soon but if you want a burger and some local(ish) GA beer, it’s a good place to stop by the interstate.“

“I have been several times now but rating in early July, 2015. This is the NEW Mellow Mushroom, not a re-opened version of the past one that closed.

This MM is comic book themed, so there’s some neat sculptures around and cool painting on the walls if you’re into that stuff.

The service is good as in the waitstaff does fine, but the food usually comes out pretty slow. Do not expect ANY beer knowledge from your server. Sadly, they often don’t even know what’s on tap. I usually just peek at the taps before I sit down.

I dig the food, especially pizza and calzones, but it is on the expensive side. My favorite is the buffalo chicken calzone. Yum.

Worth a stop for a beer and some pizza if you’ve never been to one.“

“Rating early July 2015, but I’ve visited many times. This is now basically the closest liquor store to my house and they’ve amped up the craft beer as of late, so I figured I’d add.

Typical liquor store, honestly, right by campus and pretty close to my house. Just sort of average blah, well-lit, average liquor store. They carry a fair bit of craft beer though, and I find myself stopping here frequently in a pinch of I don’t have time/patience to drive up to Craft on Draft or Five Points, both of which are where you should be going if you’re visiting town.

The service is non-existent, unless you ask, maybe? Everytime I’ve visited as of late it’s two guys working and they are standing around watching videos on their phones. Doesn’t bother me, just saying.

Selection is okay, prices are average. I had one negative experience here but it didn’t stop me from returning, I guess. They had overstocked a cooler shelf from the inside (trust me, been in the biz a long time) and when I grabbed a sixer the back one fell off and broke. I kindly told them it fell and broke and the worker told me I shouldn’t be "jiggling things around in there" when I grab a sixer. Well fuck you, tool, it’s your fault. I paid for my sixer and left and they haven’t blinked an eye at me since. Oh well, I’ll be back. If visiting, skip it.“

“College bar and of course full of college students. Brick with areas for entertaining, eating and a very small bar. Service was pretty good, but it is a big wait for the food as everything seems to be cooked to order. Food was very good and reasonably prices. Small but decent tap list.“

“Update 11/29/13.

Now that I’ve lived in Valdosta for awhile, this is my go-to stop for beer. Warehouse has a larger selection and sells singles, but FIve Points has the better quality selection for sure.

Well-lit, clean place, typical liquor store type place.

The service has gotten better since I’ve started coming here. A couple of the employees know loosely about beer and can point you to stuff you need. If you have a special request, they will try to find it for you, and the owner keeps me posted on new and special release beers.

I commented on the selection above.

Average prices for the area, no complaints.

Overall, this is probably your best stop for quality in Valdosta, whereas Warehouse would be your stop for singles.“

“Nice beer place in Valdosta. About 10 rotating taps and 30 bottles. Does beer events (firkins, takeovers) a couple times a month. Lots of good and occassionally rare beer here. Super friendly staff and great place to hang out. Food can be a little pricey, but is really good and worth it. The beer prices are reasonable. Awesome place in Valdosta.“

“Stopped in here because I was at Bad Habitz and didn’t want to drive across town to Warehouse or Five Points... big surprise. A really good selection of craft beer here (for Valdosta). I had to add this place because if you’re in Valdosta, your best bet for (high quantity) of good taps is Bad Habitz and this place is right next door. Lots of common craft beer cold in the cooler and a surprising selection of bombers and warm sixers sort of down a hall to the right. You don’t notice at first because you can’t see it when you enter, but walk towards the cooler and you’ll find the jackpot. I was able to find several ticks. They have a create your own sixer rack but no singles. Lots of bombers, American and foreign. Worth a stop. My biggest complaint is that it’s more expensive than the other stores in town. I’m guessing proximity to the interstate is to fault.“

“Associated with, but not, the Bleu Pub. This is a little bit of a fancier restaurant and does more beer events. Tap takeovers, firkins, etc. Great southern style food, somewhat "fancy" but not outrageous or expensive. Really tasty. Good beer selection for Valdosta. I repeat: for Valdosta. Anyway, I dig it, rdixon digs it. Come hang out with us. There’s nobody else here... please come... bring beer...“

“I have visited this place a few times now while in Valdosta...

The good news is that they have a decent beer selection. 5 or 6 taps these days with a few static crafts and a few rotating. They keep a good but limited selection of bottles including several macros.

The food is pretty good for the money. Best burgers in Valdosta everyone says, etc. I thought they were tasty enough.

Average prices.. all drafts are 4 dollars which probably limits what they want to put on.

Overall, it’s worth a stop if you’re in town and want a craft beer... because there’s not really anywhere else.“

“This seems to be the only place in Valdosta to find a good selection of craft beer. Stopped here on a quick trip to town. Typical liquor store with a back wall of all beer coolers and another couple shelf of single bombers and whatnot. The staff were discussing rating beers, but I think they are BeerAdvocate types from the rating signage, which I find to be a little bit more of "beer snobs". Solid selection, though some of it is very old, so watch the bottling dates if they exist. Good amount of stuff you can’t find in Florida, which I was very excited about. Prices were standard, what I expect to pay for a six pack in Georgia, with a few awesome finds (like Arrogant bastard for $3.49 a bomber). Solid place, if not the only place to find a good selection in a somewhat backwoods town.“

“Well-lit, but it seems to be in a sort of shady spot stuck behind a gas station/restaurant. Not a friendly looking crowd around the area.

None of the workers will know about beer, but the couple of people I talked to were very friendly, helpful, and knew where everything was.

A surprisingly decent selection, including lots of 4 and 6-packs and a small amount of bombers/750s. However, 5 Points has a better selection for sure.

Prices were average.

Overall, scroll past this place and hit 5 points unless you happen to be right at this spot, which is unlikely.“

“Back in business. Pretty much a one screen theater/record store with a few average craft beer cans to imbibe while watching a movie. A few craft selections. Cool place. Have a beer, grab some vinyl, watch a movie. It is one of the coolest places V-town has going for it.“

“Warehouse has a decent selection of run of the mill craft beers in 4/6p at good prices. Every once in awhile you will be able to catch an interesting seasonal. Not too many singles. Almost all the beer is in the freezer, but they do have some Belgian and special beers along the side wall. Definitely not a beer shop per say, but not too bad if you are in a pinch and need to find something decent.“

“The best beer bar in Valdosta...and, well, it is more of a restaurant than a beer bar. They do have a nice selecting of rotating taps and craft beer bottles. Nothing exceptionally rare or mind-blowing, but never have to stretch to find a great beer. The place has a cool atmosphere, and is a good place to go have a beer and burger and catch a show. Real good bar food that it a little more pricey than your average bar food, but a little better as well. Great staff, friendly. They have even ordered in a few beers for me which I appreciate. Overall, great place to try in Valdosta for beer aficionados.“

“Best beer store in Valdosta, hands down. They do a pretty good of rotating stuff in and out. Nice folk working there...always willing to place an order or hold a beer for you. Have several beers that you can’t get in Florida which make it a decent place for people from NoFla to check out. Sure, they leave a few beers on the shelf too long, but I feel lucky V-town has this place. We’d be in a load of trouble without it.“
