“A decent pub serving a couple of taps of cask ale, from Ringwood & Butcombe on my visit and the food is tasty with huge portions & good value. The landlord and locals were friendly.“

“Visited on the night of Tuesday October 13th 2015 between 6.15 and 8pm. This seemed to be the hub of Yeovil’s night life on a quiet autumnal Tuesday. The venue is long and relatively narrow with a decent amount of natural light as spoons go, some kind of shop conversion I imagine. Beer range was limited but by no means woeful when compared to other spoons, 2 World cup rugby beers on cask from Dorset and Plain, plus a Cigar City collab then the usual ’crafty’ bottles. Lagunitas IPA was tasting good and reasonably fresh @£2.49 a pop. Service was a little average, a little too much chatting with friends for my liking instead of serving me! 30 or more folks made for a decent enough atmosphere comprising largely old folks having dinner with a couple of the obligatory ’career’ drinkers thrown in for good measure. Toliets were on the ground floor - bonus! Overall no great but a reliable enough beer range on offer and likely the best place in town to pick up a few new ticks. The curry house opposite, the Viceroy, is highly recomended.“

“This is the pub where I had my first taste of cask ale almost 10 years ago, so is understandably a special place for me. There used to be monthly gigs in the back room which were very well attended and real ale goes very well with live music I can tell you. I’m aware they serve good food, though not having tried it am unable to provide a rating. Plenty of seating space with outside tables and a good atmosphere. Still plays host to touring bands though not as frequently as it once did.“

“An oft ignored backstreet local serving a decent pint of courage best bitter at good prices. Real fires in the cold season and often has live music events. Pool table and darts board. Recently refurbished toilets. Lots of interesting Yeovil memorobilia on walls.“

“One of the few cask ale outlets in Yeovil. The pub is of typical wetherspoons style and open to the usual critiscisms of the pub chain which I shall not repeat here (google for more info). Fairly good service but food can take a while when the pub is busy (weekend evenings). Often disappointing when beers displayed as "not available yet" as you inevitably miss when they are put on. Stocks beers from local Yeovil Ales.“
