“Visited a week before Christmas and the shop area was very busy. They had cider and perry from Norfolk Raider and Thoughtful Forager, a variety of bottles from Wolf, Elmtree and some vague commercial looking stuff from elsewhere. Two versions of Guinness, one available in a gift pack with a glass and some fudge. One mead on the shelves as well. Sadly no Iceni or Elveden beers. Local cheeses, pies, a butcher on site. Food in the restaurant was tasty and filling; three beers on offer there, all in bottles from Wolf. The ladies behind the counter said that they are indeed still brewing on site, but one person thought it was Elveden Brewery and the other assumed it was Iceni, but either way, brewin is intermittent. I stopped by the small brewery building but it was locked up tight. A nice enough stop especially for Christmas shopping.“

“The Elveden estate is owned by the Guinness family and they run various businesses based around the estate farm. Based in what were presumably stables, the building is a quad. It includes a farm shop, cafe, homeware shop, plus a post office. Two of the Elveden beers are still brewed in a rear outhouse. They also had various bottles from Elmtree, Wolf and City of Cambridge. Also a small Guinness themed section. Coffee and cake were fine. Fish and chips looked good. The Elveden sausages were really nice. Friendly staff - the guy who I suspect was the managers gave me the lowdown on the brewery. Decent enough tourist spot and an opportunity for ticks.“

“Visited 06/07/17. Having spent a week on holiday up here I was granted a beer ticking afternoon pass. After visiting two breweries that were not open and then 5 pubs that I left without buying any beer, I ended up at this pub which is 700 yards from where I was staying. This place has won AA awards and there seems to be as much focus on the restaurant and hotel aspects. However it has Elveden IPA on cask and three other hand pumps (only one other was on, Humpty Dumpty Swallowtail). A couple of interestingish keg offerings and various more readily available craft bottles, ie 5 or so Brewdog core beers. Plus various Guinness offerings as Elveden is owned by that family. Other punters seemed well to do but there were some local hipster yocals. But not particularly busy. Didn’t notice the prices. The area seems to lack decent pubs so this place is OK if someone happens to be passing.“
