60 /100 Cadogan (Bar) THE STREET Visited 02//07/17. Was on route to another pub when I spotted the Cadogan. The old building with a more trendy looking sign outside made me think, "Gastro pub." However I then spotted the small Brewshed Brewery sign in the car park so googled the pub and dropped in on the return leg. It certainly is going for a modern look on the inside, pine and shiny fittings. However it’s hard to judge the ambience as it was empty. I was initially taken back because I could only see some macro lagers and the like. However I then spotted two hand pumps, Brewshed Pale Ale and some Greene King bitter. Wasn’t overly impressed with the bar staff, not overly friendly. The barman did mumble something about Brewshed. Later I asked my wife if she’d heard what he’d said and she thought it may have been that Brewshed have ceased brewing? Something to keep an eye on. Anyway, the pub is part of the same chain and certainly aims for gastro, as opposed to being an out and out Brewshed tap. Not a pub to go out of you way for. At least it wasn’t too expensive. |
