60 /100 Sweffling White Horse (Bar) LOW ROAD There's two White Horse pubs on the same road within half a mile of each other, to distinguish between the two this one is called the 'Sweffling' White Horse - the other being situated in Rendham. It's an attractively small white painted stand-alone inn, with its own Queen Victoria postbox on its wall, although sadly this has been renovated at some point and modern red bricks now keep it in place. The pub was still operating its own voluntary post-covid outdoor only service so I didn't get inside, but it looked nice enough through the window. Two local microbrewed ales were available, which I was going to drink outside anyway given the superb weather. |
82 /100 Sweffling White Horse (Bar) LOW ROAD Fantastic little country pub in the middle of rural Suffolk. 3 cask ales are always available along with a real cider. All are always local and a variety of styles are on offer. Beers from the excellent Station 119 are regulars. Once you get through the cask offerings there are about 50 bottled beers and ciders to try, all from Suffolk.
For entertainment there are lots of traditional games to have a go at including free bar billiards. Music nights happen regularly and there are a variety of instruments so you can provide the music yourself when there’s nothing on.
An awesome traditional pub. A fact reflected in it winning CAMRA Suffolk pub of the year in 2015. |
