“The most north-westerly pub in West Yorkshire - the road crosses the river into North Yorkshire not too far away from here. This historic pub charts its history on one wall with the names and dates of all five incarnations since the 17th century. The current incarnation is a beautiful affair with traditional wooden tables in two open high-ceiling rooms with the bar sandwiched in the middle. Both rooms are good for dining in which is a major activity in this pub, although one is better suited to this than the other, whichever you choose you’ll have a choice of 4 real ales including a house brew from the local Goose Eye brewery and the rest will probably all come from other Yorkshire brewers. The decor is certainly to be enjoyed here with a mix of photographs, pictures, paraphernalia that includes wooden skis and mid-20th century radios. There’s also a roaring fire in one of the middle walls. There’s a large enough car park at the side and a rear garden although there’s not many places to sit in it. To the rear of the pub is a children’s playground, but this is a public place not attached to the pub.“
