“Greetland is built on an ever-rising hill along the main road - the social club is almost at the top. Slightly set back from the road to allow a fairly extensive car park, it's also a clubhouse for the local sports teams that use the large playing field behind. A relatively modern building, it's well lit inside with the meeting eating and drinking areas just up a set of steps on the left after you enter. I arrived at peak time on a Saturday, when it was full of families (there were a lot of children here), and no tables spare. The bar is to the left and behind the door sporting four real ale pumps, with three in use on my visit carrying local microbreweries. Despite being a club all are welcome, although it's pretty much off any beaten track so it's very much a locals place.“

“This looks like a traditional pub from the outside except for the large iron railed fence that separates the front beer garden and the building from the pavement and road out front - perhaps the better outside area to sit in is the rear beer garden. Inside it is not a pub of traditional style and includes a decor of modern design wood paneling, leather bound single chairs around small round tables and a swanky bar serving area. It’s a slightly unusual and small set-up but both comfortable and popular. There’s a pool table room towards the rear with the main drinking action in front of and to the side of the bar. There are a couple of real ales from local brewers and a keg from Greene King.“

“This is a community centre but it feels like a pub. All welcome. It’s also the home of Elland RLFC and Greetland AFC. Good selection of Yorkshire ales when I called and in good condition. Definitely worth a visit.“
