“Their own beers are a bit 'meh', but occasionally you find a hidden gem so always worth a look. Their St Pierre Belgian Blonde Beer is a nice beer, brewed in Bruges I believe.“

“Mostly a pretty bland selection that doesn't change much. Plenty of generic own brands. It's cheap though“

“This review may age but as at March 21: I like the general aspect and layout of this supermarket but for beers its a mixed bag. The lagers on offer are at least on par with commercial brands. For ciders, if you look past the Taurus brand you can get some decent quality cans and bottles. For craft beers, the Hop Foundry brand is atrocious, William Brothers beers are decent but they have a tight mark-up so are never going to be great. Everything else tends to be below average to decent. Traditional style bottled beers are reasonable in comparison to other supermarket label beers. I had a coffee stout which was very impressive. Occasional you get some Belgium beers which surprise you with the quality. If you like rating different beers then they are gift that keeps on giving, just don't expect quality overall.“

“A decent selection of their own beers, which are quite cheap. They also have the odd guest beer for a decent price.“

“Not your first choice for quality beers, but worth a quick browse once in a while - standard selection is relatively uninspiring but they seem to be increasing the variety of faux-craft cans & bottles, and sometimes have some niche foreign beers and value-for-money gift-packs on offer“

“We went to Aldi on the outskirts of Bedford. We went away with six cans of pretty decent beer at low prices. They had maybe around 20 of their own branded beers and cider.“

“OK budget supermarket chain. Reminds me a lot of Cash & Carry shops from the 90s. Occasionally has some good £1 bottles of ale, lager and cider or a hidden gem from Northern Europe, but it is mainly their own brands and most are cheap for a reason.“

“It’s a budget end of the market supermarket chain. The odd new beer can be found from time to time. Usually big queues to get out but worth a look once in a while.“

“Serious? Aldi in RB places? lol I have visited some in England but wasn’t excited with the beers I saw... The prices however are always nice at Aldi! Anyways, rather visit a good beer shop when shopping for beer, I guess...“

“Have visited a few times over the years as this is a convenient watering stop while travelling to visit friends in Staffordshire. This is effectively the brewery tap for Warwickshire brewery (although they own a couple more pubs too). Five warwickshire beers on handpump. The beers aren’t generally particularly innovative but are solid and in good shape. Also a guest beer or two. It’s a comfortable, unpretentious place dating back to the 16th century and overlooking the attractive market square, tucked away just off the main shopping drag through Atherstone. There’s some seating out front on the square. Discounts for CAMRA members. I don’t think they do food other than crisps, nuts & the like. Not sure what the atmosphere is like at busier times as it’s always been the quiet afternoon period when we’ve dropped in. Worth a visit if you are in the area.“

“I have been in the Aldi in Cowes / IoW. The selection there was rather low and tiny, maybe one or two new ones / ciders. I remember that the Aldi in Hythe -where I was two years ago. was far better abd with a superb selection of many different beers. Worth a visit though.“

“You might be lucky and find something of interest here but I didn’t. The bottled beer selection was very limited and their own brand beer (mainly pale lager in cans and stubby bottles) was only available in multiple packs. (Visited 22 March 2014).“

“Similar to Lidl in that they have outsourced contract brews for lager, ale and cider, but they have a slightly better range here. There’s a few brand bottled ales and some named lagers available too. Occasionally there is a bottle of interest here.“

“Strange to find this as a ’Place’ on RB, but I’ll add my pennies worth. Often has special offers of beers you are surprised to see: British, German, Belgian and Italian to name the semi-regulars. Sometimes in packs, sometimes with a presentation box with a glass, sometimes just individual bottles. The regularly stocked cans and bottles are not so exciting but are keenly priced. Their own label beers seem to have disappeared at the moment. The food is good value!“

“A hidden gem you probably not will find if you are not special interested. Highly recomended place in The lovely English countryside. Friendly lovely atmosphere. Really solid selection on bottles as well together with a lot of their own beer.“

“I don’t use Aldi often, but when i do I like to check out the beers. There’s usually a small, but changing selection, and often a scoop. Beers are generally not expensive, but are not actually the bargains you might expect from a budget supermarket. Expect to pay around the same price as any other supermarket. There are often beers by Batemans, a few German or European lagers, and some own label beers. The selection is not as wide, diverse or interesting as the major supermarkets, and will often be less than your corner store. Not really worth stopping for just to look for beers, but if you’re in, you might as well check out the beer section.“
