60 /100 AM KUBELMARKT 8 3 taps. Hell & Weiss were not up to my taste, but Christmas Bock was fantastic. |
64 /100 AM KUBELMARKT 8 Visited 02/2014 GC Tour de Ländle. In the center of god-forsaken Badian Bruchsal, part guesthouse/hotel, part brewpub. Natural hop vine decoration, kettles on display. Does not seem to constiture the hub of the town like in Franconia, as I was the only brewpub visitor on an early Tuesday night after work. Surprsingly tasty Schwarzes, other beers seemed to have some butter issues. - Yet another lacklustre DE brewery I will never visit again to find myself mayor of... |
62 /100 KARLSRUHER STRASSE 4 An alternative place; not definitively a beer-place, but they serve Mead, a rare thing here, therefore listed. The interior reminds a very old style pub (small, dark, a lot of wood and brass), but with a gothic touch; they play heavy metal music (from Motorhead to Midnight Oil; Rammstein can’t miss too), and it feels just right. I got a personalized service from the waitress. They have a decent mead (met or honigwein in German) from plastic tanks, and a few draught beers from a local micro. No food. |
64 /100 AM KUBELMARKT 8 A village pub, the interior is not bad, but maybe too dark in one of the rooms. They have 4 beers (1 seasonal), all quite good, with no excess; the peculiar thing is that some of them taste like Lager-Ale crossovers. The menu has some option more than the basic bräuhaus grub, and the food is ok. |
74 /100 AM KUBELMARKT 8 Hausbrauerei with a small, efficent hotel attached, in an historically important town with nowadays a nice backwater atmosphere. Lots of wooden fittings, clean German house beers, an old world feel and an instant welcome. Above average beers for the north. |
