“Visited on 15th July 2016. Large old brewpub in the centre of town and just a minute or so from Heilig’s Blechle. Plenty of wood around the place and plenty of room to sit down in. The beer range is a solid list of their own beers plus 30 or so craft cans and bottles. Camba Bavaria and Craftwerk featured on the list but not all were available. Service was good, prices decent. It’s a nice place. Best beer range in town.“

“Visited on 15th July 2016. Two roomed brewpub just out of the town centre in Ehingen. It’s all dark wood with a very 80s feel about the place. Not many tables in the place but wasn’t busy. Popular with the older locals who are regulars. Beer was decent and food cooked fresh as ordered. Owner was friendly and I went through the card. Good value. Decent place.“

“Visited on 15th July 2016. Small single roomed bar just up the road from Zum Schwan brewery. Quite an odd looking place with a terrace open until 10 pm which is covered and has beer bottles and a cool waterfall adequate from krugs. Inside is pretty smoky, it’s like the platform in Brief Encounter! Beer range is decent with Rössle providing a house beer plus a bottle or two and Berg providing the rest. Service and prices good and is open late. Nice place“

“Visited in mid July. Upstairs one room venue attached to the brewery. Really nice tradiotional feel to the place, staff and locals really friendly and helpful. Beers in top notch condition having not travelled far. Definite worth a stop. Excellent“

“Visited in Feb ’10 on a damp Monday evening. Place was fairly quiet and we chose to eat here having not been able to get a table at Schwanen. There weren’t many others in here comapred to Schwanen! Decor was 70’s/80’s - dark wood and soft backed bench seating. Beers were ok, food adequate, service good. No wow factor here but solid enough beer and food.“

“Visited in Feb ’10. We aimed to eat here but despite it being a wet Monday night the place was fully booked so we went away and came back later for some beers. Nice old building, lots of wood - floors, tabes, chairs. Beer range was interesting for Germany - we had a porter and a pale ale (unfortunately I wasn’t rating back then to have entered these on the database). Service was pleasant and our waitress was interested to chat to the English strangers in town.“

“Stumbled upon it on a bike tour and decided to stay. A good location and a good room, good service (I’d obviously stay again). This is Ehingen’s front for the neighboring Berg brewery, and you can get 0,1L samplers of three of the Berg beers here for a euro each, in addition to bottles.“

“Long tables and wood, a little more of an old person’s place than a real boozer. Really sweet young thing was my waitress. Maultäschle oder “Hergottsscheißerle” (haha) for €6,40 really hit the spot (but, unfortunately, remained with me for almost an entire day), and the beers were good. Nice little niche products for sale as well, beer mustard and beer schnaps and beer soap, etc.. They take beer seriously in Ehingen, and this is a fine starting or ending point.“

“I was the only one there, in fact I had to be specially let in, but the gentleman was friendly and the Bock was excellent. Cosy spot, very local, and teenagers would feel totally out of place here.“

“Hotel - restaurant owned by the Berg brewery from across the river. All the Berg beers are available and the four tap beers can be tried in small tasters. Good food. Located just behind the Marktplatz, with a garden behind it.“

“Traditional Gaststätte on the first floor of the building, just below one of the churches. Looked a bit deserted, but service was quick and friendly. Good beer, did not try any food.“

“Beautiful traditional Brauereigaststätte in the centre of Ehingen, looks old although (re)built in the 1980ies. Several rooms, very good food and service, interesting beer selection, good quality beers. They have two brewing kits, the bigger one for the standard range, the smaller one for the monthly specials. They also have a distillery (nice Bierbrand, Bierlikör a.o.) and sell mustard made with their beer. On the opposite side of the street they are building a hotel.“

“Traditional brewery in a village near Ehingen/Donau. This place consists of a brewery, restaurant, shop and museum. The shop offers souvenirs as well as their complete range of beers, including sme seasonals. During the time of my visit the seasonal beer was Märzen. Friendly staff, a large selection and a distance of only 5km to Ehingen with more traditional breweries make this place worth a trip.“

“Small brewery and restaurant in the historic town centre of Ehingen an der Donau. 4 different beers are on tap and sold bottled. The place has a really cosy feeling about it. The menu looked good, but as I was running out of time and cash I didn’t try the food. Ehingen is worth a visit, 3 breweries in the centre, this is one of them. Highly recommended.“

“The Schwanene brewery and restaurant is a typicla South German brewery restaurant in the town of Ehingen, which boasts 3 breweries. Founded in the 17th century, this brewpub offers 4 regular beers on tap + one seasonal (during the time of my visit Märzen). Also available is the only bottled beer by Schwanen - Dominikus naturtrübes Lager. A very pleasant place, nicely decorated with breweriana and hops, friendly staff and lovely beers. Ehingen is certainly worth a trip. Didn’t try the food but the menu looked really good!“
